  1. How can you appeal what you did not get? Result! I once got given a ticket inside an envelope which said on its outside, "This is not a fine, but a warning". But inside was the ticket telling me to pay. So I appealed and they decided it should be cancelled due to a 'technical reason'. Technically, they gave me the wrong envelope ;) Ask them for a copy of the ticket he gave you. No, wait, they might be able to do that!
  2. Take this up with the Motor Insurers Institute, or whatever their governing body is. Seriously, look in to this and complain.
  3. Ohhhhhh RosieH get round here and I'll lend you my "1,000 things to do round London" book. I enjoyed the Rude Britannia and Romantics exhibitions at Tate Britain. But here's an offer: On one sunny afternoon would you like a ride round London on the back of my motorcycle? I have spare helmet and gloves. It's a once in a lifetime offer. You can tell me where you would like to go but I do good allround tours to visiting relatives and friends, so love doing this!
  4. No it's not all ED residents have to worry about. There's plenty more, I tell you, like what kind of shop they should have in vacant spaces along Lordship Lane, what to do about trolls, why no-one knows about the wonders of the Peckham Farmers Market and so on. These are sleep depriving nightmares of concern.
  5. And the Camerons have another mouth to feed and she's entitled to more child benefit. It's wrong, I tell you.
  6. But how would you recognise one another from your nick names? I love this forum!
  7. Can you test for vomit?
  8. I have a confession to make: I can not be arsed to read all seven pages, so just read pages 1, 6 and 7. He typeth, "If any of you are uncomfortable with this, please register your feelings on this thread. I can not guarantee that requests will be met but I will do my best to accommodate them so long as the integrity and scope of my feature is not compromised." I am thus registering my feelings. You are not allowed to quote anything PeckhamRose has written on this thread. It's copyright between me and the owners of the forum. (And my name is not really Rose. And I found out I don't live in Peckham. I live in Nunhead. Came as quite a shock I can tell you.)
  9. See, cate? There are so many cultures and I stupidly assumed you and I shared the same one. Thanks folks for the highlighting of said film.
  10. Dodgy accent? And you telling people about a sense of humour button. Isn't this a bit of a black kettle and pot situation? Meanwhile, are you sure it's vomit?
  11. Thank you. Yes, I was. It was IRONY and a quote from above mentioned film.
  12. Apart from that, what has PEckham ever done or got for us?
  13. And a miserable one at that. Still, not as irritating as waynetta. Must admit I get a lot of chinese stuff in the shop by Morrisons. But in Chinatown supermarkets it's even cheaper!
  14. I just had one of those online questionnaires when I was on my Vodafone website thing and marked them low for signal and personal customer care and they rang me and asked me why. Anyway during the call they told me there is to be a new mast around Lordship Lane (this may alreadynow be up) and also on Peckham Rye SE15 side (probably an old tree. Or the school, of course. Sorry, I meant 'Academy'!)
  15. Condoms are already free at the doctors. You don't even need an appointment!
  16. "Most of the people who would go to this type of market would not want to be heading down to Peckham". Louisa you phu&*%ing snob. Do you really think Peckham is made up of poor ignorant people who only all shop at Iceland, Primark etc? Peckham is definitely home to a large African contingent just as Southall is to Indian/Asians. So What. I love it. And some of those shops may sell stuff you do not like, so don't go there, but don't slag it off. I think the Farmers Market would do well if there was more advertising, but maybe it does fine as it is.
  17. I work hard enough thanks. Ohhhhh you mean THAT kinda PR! I agree with what you say. The one time I got up early enough to go down there, there were only four stalls and it was 11.00am. TO be fair there are several banner adverts around but I guess they have gone off their moorings in the wind, and also its location is its advert to passing traffic. And the nearest parking is Morrisons. But fair point and thanks for reminding us of it!
  18. So if the educated are not having kids, and all the uneducated are breeding more kids likely to be just as uneducated, what are we gunna do? Tax fat according to BMI? According to low IQ? Or just tax the wealthy who are too stupid not to get the hell out of this overtaxing country? Or what?
  19. Yeah, he got me at "The".
  20. I think there are quite a few people in East Dulwich who rent their houses for film and TV companies. For example, it was a lovely surprise to me to be able to walk to work many years ago for a day's filming on London's Burning, to Scutari Road. Thought I'd just mention that!
  21. Yeah but having said all that, my fabulous motorbike and more importantly riding it, makes me so very happy. Life ain't about the destination it's about the journey. Yeah right, but money will help prevent you having to walk the entire length. Now, back to bed.
  22. and football. Don't forget they're priced out of football. And what was once WorkingMan'sTransport (motorcycling) - they're very much being priced off of that too. It ain't easy, is it!
  23. The Clockhouse does Pork Scratchings, and the last time I had one a filling got knocked out. My filling, mind, I wasn't chucking the pork scratchings at an annoying child or nothing. And in actual fact there was a very enlightening and interesting documentary all about the making of pork scratchings last week on Radio Four which you might find on listen again facility if you can be so ar$ed. And even listening to that didn't put me off, but the fee for the dentist did!
  24. Go for it NZ! Or USA Right that's it. I need to go for a ride.
