Don't be ridiculous, the carcinogens are in the smoke itself and are released when tobacco is burnt, they don't hang around in clothes, only the smell does and although it might not be pleasant that is hardly going to harm your child.

  9. cate Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > There isn't always wind about Dubluke, except on > this forum. haha, I see your point cate, but my one also still remains, if Keef's child is indoors in the house and he is outside in the garden having a fag I hardly think it will be inflicting suffering on her as she won't be in the smokey environment

Don't feel too guilty Keef, in my opinion that's a bit different, you smoked away from your daughter and having one pint doesn't really affect her, whereas I think that if you were fagging and drinking when pregnant it would be a different matter, as smoking and drinking when pregnant can directly harm your unborn child.
  13. so who's actually coming? or have we all decided to stay at home on the internet lost in a world of incontinence? :P
  14. Look on the bright side, at least she wasn't enjoying a pint with the fag
  15. I realise that it worked in this case, but to be honest I wouldn't encourage saying someone you are connected with (or indeed saying that you are) a gang to two muggers. If they happened to be gang members of a rival gang (which wouldn't be completely unlikely) then you may land yourself in much hotter water as they may beat the shit out of you as they see you as a rival, whereas beforehand you might have just lost your phone

Then I noticed that they were > used as hard man accessories by young men. When > did this fashion for Staffies and other bulldog > types start? 10-12 years ago perhaps? I think historically they have been used by 'hard men' for dog fighting and bear baiting etc. - so whilst they are used by them for a different reason these days I think that the idea of them being used or trained for an agressive purpose is not a new one. When well trained they have been known to be good with kids, but many of them are trained specifically for the purpose of fighting other dogs and attacking people, I see guys in the small park/green across my street doing this, they get them to bite a stick and then lift it up in the air with the dog still biting it and encourage the dog to hold on as long as possible, I think the idea is to get them in the habit of not letting go of things once they have clamped their jaws on them, as well as to strengthen their bite (if you get what I mean, bit of a badly constructed sentence) - in order to behave in the same way during a dog fight/attack.

Fair enough, I wouldn't describe myself as an idealist but certainly as an optimist, particularly at work; perhaps I have not been in the industry long enough to become disullusioned with it just yet, but with that in mind I have only ever worked for independent agents with an ethos emphasising honesty and good practice edit - plus I am an honest and (I would like to think) nice person
  18. Aye that is a shame he's made you feel uneasy enough to have to change the place you walk your dog, glad to hear the police are actually acting on it though
  19. hope this isn't an early finish thing! don't get out of work until 4

Perhaps you would like my friend Fabio? He's a suave man, enjoys spectating and directing ball based sports, wearing fine suits and also takes an impressive 6 figure salary. I've put a picture below for you to check him out http://images.mirror.co.uk/upl/m3/feb2008/3/5/E8B7FD82-D22A-5599-A0B167C0326BB439.jpg :P

I can understand why you might find that frightening but if what you say is the case for a lot of women (ie. having a man walk on the same pavement as them at night causing fear of attack) then I think that is a real shame. I must honestly say that when walking behind someone of any gender at night time, I would not be thinking to myself that perhaps I should cross the road in case I'm making them worry I might jump them...I'm simply walking down the pavement.
