  1. Barely legal
  2. When she was in Walkabout, she was 18 and I was 17 but I thought she was 15. Am I allowed to watch Walkabout in the same way now I'm an old man or will I have to go to prison?
  3. A considerably better use of money than Southwark Life magazine, one issue of which could staff and equip a youth club
  4. Or stop sounding like Tracey Emin on anti helium
  5. I would if he could play music or paint
  6. I can see that wall from my window. I'll get the binoculars out. I've had two bikes nicked from around here and one was a Giant so I feel the pain. Good luck
  7. Third Heathrow runway
  8. Would forumites kindly hang on to their unread copies of Southwark Life magazine rather than recycling them? The plan is to construct an artwork of some considerable size outside one of the council's offices. My assistants are arranging the petrol but if anyone has any jumping jacks, aerial bomb shells or distress flares? Actually some Semtex might gee it up. I think I'll call it Bonfire of the Vanities

and another thing, where does he get off fronting the Blockheads? Fantasist tosser. Maybe the Clash should get back together so he can be fat Joe. What would Dury say? F*ck off Noddy.
  10. I didn't see it but what Brendan said, especially about Margaret Becket. The 2010 ballot forms should be specifically for rejecting politicians. When they've all gone, turn the palace into the British Louvre, ship the remaining six honest politicians out to the new parliament on a Grimsby industrial estate, and then hold an election.

Is a profoundly unfunny man. Never made me laugh, not once. Just a whiff of desperation. He is currently proving how good a DJ Danny Baker is by standing in for him on BBC London
  13. Weird, I was just thinking about Big Star. Tata Alex and Charlie

And when you hear what a pig's dinner Phil Jupitus is making off DB's show, it makes you realise how good DB is. Jupitus has never made me laugh... not once In fact this is worthy of its own thread
  15. She had me once, if you'll excuse the expression. Someone should get a picture of her before shutting the door on her foot/head.
  16. It must be nearly time for the April issue. I can't wait.... Southwark, usefully has a page especially for those of us fed up with junk mail

Good grief, it's not that difficult. On his show, he was asking if social networking sites/forums helped/hindered the formation of local communities. I wanted to phone in extolling the virtues of this forum but I hadn't time. And he likes my book so I like him

is talking about communities and whether social networking has a place. I haven't got time to phone in
  19. I hereby surrender to the residents of La La Land SE22 and will hereafter leave the council free to continue to rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic without hindrance from me. Here's to their vacuous magazines, their Tooley Street ivory tower, their pointless road schemes and their slippery councillors. Goodbye.
  20. The one-armed man. Kimble is innocent
  21. All the report says is that the highways department is using up its budget and more It's dawning on me that challenging the council on its spending takes more time and energy than I have. Does someone else want to take up the cudgels?
  22. This isn't personal James, it's just that you're the councillor brave enough to address local issues via the edf. However specific questions seem to get swerved whenever there is a criticism of council spending. So I'll have another go. Court Lane paths have very slight traffic and didn't need relaying. The handful of residents of Court Lane that I've spoken to about it agree. The path layers have been down there for months and are still there. You could run all the Red army's tanks down Court Lane and the road would probably hold up, yet it is to be relayed. How much is it all costing?
  23. I've just driven it. Apart from the fact it has more humps than a herd of camels it doesn't need resurfacing any more than it needed a mile of new paths
  24. And how much will that little lot have cost? The paths didn't need doing and no one walks down them anyway. Sorry, but you started it.
  25. The back of the Ivy House is a great room
