  1. Yep, nightmare for me, travelling Denmark Hill to Farringdon every day. Half the direct trains are cut and there weren't enough as it is. I predict that Blackfriars will be a bunfight. As if travelling on these trains wasn't depressing enough. This is by no means an "achievement" unless you like horrible journeys.
  2. Thanks folks. How disappointing. They almost certainly won't do anything until something awful happens.
  3. Has anyone seen that there is work going on at the station? They've knocked a hole in the wall in Windsor Walk and are working on flattening the area behind the wall. Could this mean they are finally doing something sensible and putting an exit in on that side?
  4. Agree Springtime madness to do this while CG still closed.
  5. I've had it since I was a kid and it's usually trees for me. I once read that London is one of the worst places for it because if the plane trees but I've had it in random places in this country and in others. Around now is a pretty normal time for it to kick in. I find Beconase helps a lot. I've tried most things at some stage...
  6. Is there a link please Renata?
  7. The Crooked Well in Camberwell.
  8. There is a distinct lack of fun in these parts but in my many years of experience on this forum, it has always become heated at times. I genuinely don't think there are more arguments here than before. The trouble is that there isn't a huge amount of balance these days and it has to be said that we are to some extent living in dark times, so it's hard to escape the negative.
  9. Just accept that you got this one wrong and we can all move on. 2wans Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Sue, you do understand that limp is a word with a > whole meaning of its own, right? > > If I had written a "limp knock", rather than a > "limp-wristed" knock, > you probably wouldn't have jumped to the > conclusion that I was being homophobic, correct? > > I'm just destroying brain cells at this point by > reading your messages. 10. An "unmanly" knock. Is it a requirement of people canvassing for a political party to be "manly"?
  11. Yep. No evidence at all of these "men who would dress as women in order to spy on/assault women in changing rooms". As you say, technically this is something which is possible now but it just doesn't happen. rahrahrah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > @sb - how does a change in gender recognition laws > increase the likelihood of a predatory man > disguising himself as a woman in order to gain > entry to a female changing room? 12. A toasted bacon sandwich is not a bacon sandwich. Nice and all but not the real thing.

    Afternoon Tea

Le Chandelier closed yonks ago. Also wasn't very good.
  14. Letter through the door today from Southwark and Network Rail saying that FINALLY the works are timetabled. 14th May - 2nd August. Phased closures of parts of the Grove, footpaths and cycle path section at the bridge. They say this info will be available at this link - http://www.southwark.gov.uk/transport-and-roads/roadworks-and-highway-improvements/bridges-subways-and-walls?chapter=2 But nothing showing there yet, so roughly: 14/05 - 02/08 (daytimes) Full road closure and one footway open. Cyclists to dismount. 25/05 - 29/05 (day and night) Full closure to all traffic, pedestrians and cyclists (including closure of McNeil Road) Scheduled to reopen for vehicles of less than 3 tonnes from Friday 3rd August. Frankly can't wait!

Unless you are a professional breeder you should only ask for the cost of the health checks and vaccinations you must have surely carried out by now?
  16. I was there at the same time Ollie. It was horrendous and no staff on duty. When something awful happens there - and it?s only a matter of time until it does, who will take responsibility.
  17. Poor lamb. Too difficult to go to a cashpoint once in a while? Get a grip.
  18. Hopefully excellent news!
  19. Yes, in what way was the car damaged?
  20. Well in Italy they make it themselves if they want it fresh. It's second nature to them, as is cooking in general. One of the reasons why it's the best food in the world. You obviously haven't had the right tagliatelle if you don't think fresh is best. 21. Well then why are you questioning the working 7 hours a day? Perhaps you meant 7 hours including a break? In which case that would be pushing it a bit but gardening is hard graft and if the results are good..... > Ps to the ' get a grip grump '...I never said I > expected an 8 hr day without a break
  22. Who works 8 hours a day without a break? Get a grip.
  23. A load of cobblers, obviously but I like a good story. Any more info on these? Seasonal ailments

None of this is flu. Everyone?s running to the doctor for antibiotics, which are no use at all and quite bad for us all unless we have a bacterial infection. I?ve had what you describe Sue since 23rd December, it?s just a nasty cold. A virus. Antibiotics don?t work on viruses. Just being kind to myself has helped, lots of vitamin c, eating well and plenty of red wine!
