  1. Go to the Trastevere district. It?s fantastic. If you can get a table, eat at Glass.
  2. My theory would be that it was something to do with crime.
  3. Artusi and Forza Win are fantastic.
  4. You should have asked for their name and reported them. Chuggers give charity in general a bad name sometimes.
  5. What a pair of twats.
  6. Yes they do. They also leafleted with a couple of Christmas period alterations. After those dates things went back to normal. Do you not know what day they normally collect anyway? 7. A friend of mine on FB found this and it's fascinating. You can enter your street name and overlay old maps to see how your area has changed. Best to select maps from England and Wales from the drop down if you're in London and then you can choose from various maps and move the slider to make the map more or less transparent. Some may find this dull but stuff like this fascinates me. http://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#
  8. Non/low alcohol beer and wine are vile. If you're not drinking, you're better off with water. This year we're doing no booze Monday to Friday night. So far so good.....
  9. Agree. It was horrendous down there yesterday. Paul Lupton Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The sooner vehicles can use the bridge again the > better - Bellenden is overrun with traffic
  10. Well they've closed down now, so maybe all the criticism is somewhat belated and redundant.
  11. Mick Mac?s comment was a joke Dover. Re the old ad campaign.
  12. Nope. Have just visited a lot and the above experience is not one I recognise. Actually, if anything, the service can be the problem there. That's quite patchy but not the food. DovertheRoad Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > ^^^ mates with owner.
  13. On the contrary, I think their comment was overly harsh, especially about a place that is of such a consistently high standard. 14. Thank you James. Any chance you could chase them to see when they will be doing this?
  15. No. But it bears no resemblance to any experience I've had there (having been many times.) Cardelia Wrote: > On the day I visited, they didn't know how to > cook. 16. Completely disagree. The food at The Camberwell Arms is great. If you think they don't know how to cook, you probably shouldn't eat out. 17. Booze.
  18. Also, during evening rush hour it can take 20 minutes to get out of the station. If more than one train arrives at once then all of the stairways become dangerously overcrowded and people are prevented from entering the station and getting down to the platforms. It doesn't help that there are a large number of stupid people who try to ascend/descend the stairs on both sides, instead of using common sense and sticking to the left. No thought went into this costly "refurbishment" at all and before too long, something awful is going to happen here.
  19. Yes. Their cheese is amazing and the service is great. Don't know re Shropshire Blue, soz. 20. Pre-order from Mons. Shopping for anything on Christmas Eve is almost as bad an idea as Brexit.
  21. Yes, the "remodelling" of DH station is actually scandalous. It really is an accident waiting to happen. One day something awful will happen there. It cost a vast fortune and there is no way that money was spent on either the design or the structure. "Designed" by someone who has probably never used a rail station. jimlad48 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I find now that its actually faster to run home > from where I work to near Denmark Hill than it is > to take the train. > > I am also very worried about the physical > condition of the station, which is dangerously > overcrowded - the recent ticket office rennovation > was a missed opportunity to install extra > entrances, and the ticket gates caused huge levels > of overcrowding as people jostle to get in and out > of the station. 22. The best thing to do with Quorn is to chuck it in the bin.
  23. Link please. 24. Good job that wasn't a human on the pavement.
