  1. I love my tats so piss off Quids
  2. DJ I think you have a point. The random violence of my youth was just as brutal and meaningless, but the weapon of choice was usually a bottle or house brick despite most young men carrying knives.
  3. The brutality which many of us witnessed in the 70's, 80's and 90's was just as bad or worse than the young people dish out now. We are what has changed. We have become older, more comfortable and more easily shocked.
  4. Lol. Moos, that was very funny. I now have people on the bus looking around them to work out where the loud snorty gufaw just came from!
  5. This is nonsense. There has always been random violence. While what happened to this guy is awful, it's not a new thing. I grew up in Merseyside where random acts of violence were a normal part of life. If anything, there is less random violence than there used to be when I was growing up, even in Merseyside.
  6. But then they'd risk the finger pointing and tut tutting too - and I think they prefer to belong to the rightiously indignant instead because there is safety in numbers.
  7. I have managed to get through all 9 pages of this and I'm a bit suprised by the posts of a couple of people I would normally agree with. I was 9 when I was looking after my baby brother after my mum shut down with post-natal depression and I did a good job of looking after him until she recovered about 18 months later. My own kids were brought up to look out for each other and whilst my son would have had no problems looking after a 5 year old sibling when he was 8, his sister would not. Some kids are naturally more responsible and sensible than others. I think without actually knowing the kids and their respective abilities, personalities etc, it is very hard to make a judgement but in any event, it cannot possibly be as black and white as many posters have stated on here. Hopefully the Schonrocks know their children very well and understand whhere their limits are. I wish the family good luck and hope people will leave them to make the relevant judgements about their own children with a minimum of interference .

I've had my full driving licence accepted for travel to and from Paris when my passport had expired, but I think you are right in that this would at the discretion of the immigration officer rather than a right which travel with and ID card is.

You will therefore need to present > a valid passport or ID card to travel to those > five countries It has nothing to do with Schengen. Schengen is a visa area for non-EEA Nationals. The Free Movement Directive governs the movement of EEA Nationals and the bit that gives you the right to cross all EEA borders with an ID card is: Article 5 Right of entry 1. Without prejudice to the provisions on travel documents applicable to national border controls, Member States shall grant Union citizens leave to enter their territory with a valid identity card or passport and shall grant family members who are not nationals of a Member State leave to enter their territory with a valid passport. 11. I once had two guys attempt to rape me. I think all men should have to wear chastity belts. I am a citizen, I was attacked, I am allowed my say. I am not intent on punishing all guys, merely making the men safe enough, for strangers to feel safe. I think it would be no different to putting the condom on, the guy would get excited at the anticipation of the excercise, not the actual chastity belt wearing. I do not hate men at all, I hate the fear they can cause people. I resent the lazy obnoxious men who only care about whether they got what they wanted. Although the responsible men are not guilty of trying to rape, not all are as responsible. All I wish is to cross open public land and not be at risk from an unfettered male.
  12. EU nationals can cross all borders using any form of official photo ID, e.g. drving licence or national ID. They don't need a passport.

To get an idea of who might be a likely target perhaps? Are you just attacking me or do you have anything useful to say?
  14. There are loads on Parkway. I like the Bento Cafe there and there is a decent Italian but can't remember the name. There is also a nice Lebanese place on Parkway too.

That is when we women turn into cougars and then at 45, get fed up with that, resigning ourselves to either gathering cobwebs, or swinging!
  16. I just get fed up with the bull-breed bashing that goes on here so felt the need to put my point in that regard. Sorry if I've taken the thread further off track, normal service will be resumed.
  17. Well said missus. I think we need to pass a few more of HB's grips out in this area. The place seems to be pretty short if some of the posts on the EDF are anything to go by!
  18. Or even better, from the safe interiors of our laptops!
  19. Daizie, we all know that the good ones are all married, so you just need to start shagging married men, innit?
  20. I have to put my two penneth worth in here. My dog is a staff cross and I got him when he was 10 months old as a rescue, I offered to take him from someone who was unable to look after him. He is 4 and a half now. He is castrated and has never attacked a dog or human. He has been attacked, however by other dogs. His first attack was just after I had started looking after him when he ran over to a big pitbull to say hello and the pitbull grabbed my dog by the throat in his huge jaws. I had to kick and beat the pitbull with the dog lead to try to get it off my dog and the owner tried to have a go at me for saving my dog. This was in Dulwich Park. This dog was not castrated and my dog was totally unable or unwilling to fight back. The second time he was attacked was a couple of months later in Peckham Rye Park by a horrible weimaraner who bit through my dog's ear. The owner then went into a diatribe about how pitbulls are shot on site in Australia and seemed to be happy that his dog had injured my 'hard' staff cross. This dog was not castrated and my dog was totally unable or unwilling to fight back. A few months after that my dog was attacked by an airdale terrier in Dulwich Park and the middle class owner again thought it was great that his aggressive dog had attacked my 'hard' bull breed dog. This dog was also not castrated and my dog was totally unable or unwilling to fight back. About two years ago, my dog, who had become slightly more dominant as he'd got older, but also less inclined to approach dogs he doesn't know, was attacked by an akita. My dog spun round and placed his front paw on the akita's back and they stood motionless. I told the akita owner to hold his dog tight and I'd lift my dog off of him so that they didn't fight. I pulled my dog into the air and the stupid akita owner was unable to control his dog, so he managed to bite my dog on his tail and broke his tail. My bull breed dog lives happily with two cats and has lived with chickens without even chasing them. He is bossed around by kids in the family and has never even snapped at them when they are pulling him about or playing in his feeding bowls. He is still a friendly sociable dog and has never bitten another dog despite having been attacked in the past. So after reading all the crap about bull breed dogs, from people who have never owned one, here are some of my reasons for owning one. And I'd like you to tell me how my dog should be classed as a dangerous dog, when the other breeds who attacked my dog and who are never mentioned when this argument is played over and over again, were the ones who behaved like aggressive, dangerous dogs.
  21. I don't think Hal was being flippant. The thought of an elderly, toothless staff probably brought out the sense of the bizzare in a couple of us, me included, sorry. The threats of the owner, however, are illegal if they put you or yours in fear of any physical harm and should be reported to the police.
  22. Lol, that took a minute for the penny to drop.
  23. Er, I think most handuffs are stainless steel nowadays.
  24. It must be pretty scary for the drivers. I've heard of car drivers and even cyclists being mugged for their vehicles, but is the increase in van jacking a relatively new thing? Are they after the vehicle or it's cargo do you think?
  25. Or get a small one that looks like this: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs080.ash2/37320_405260661490_627771490_5045496_3216623_n.jpg
