  1. I guess it could also shut Peckham vision up if they placed a bar at the top with even better views across London than currently can be achieved from the top of a crumbling car park Just a though mind you
  2. Potentially this is an issue for some people as the weather has become warmer of late and as such they are opening windows and hearing an increase in noise as a result I say this as the usual plane moaner has been quite over the winter period...
  3. Hi James Can you let us know if the Southwark street works register is still being updated by the council as I've noticed a number of old entries still showing and nothing new for a while. It's a useful tool but only if it's accurate
  4. Downe hall stables is my recommendation, with two pubs in the village (downe) that do a decent lunch, friendly stable staff and a lovely countryside area to ride in. Charles darwins house is a short bike ride away too Downe is between Bromley and bigger hill
  5. How will this be enforced and what happens to fines How long is the grace period Whilst a good idea to stop people sitting with their engines running it does yet again feel like a tax on motorists
  6. Prince (slightly dodgy link)
  7. Have you done a mot and tax check on it ? If it had these then it's more than likely NOT abandoned, as others have said it does appear someone is working on it so maybe leave a note on it first before reporting it as that would only be the polite thing to do You can check its status here https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-tax

Sadly, whilst it is good advice, it's a sad state of affairs where we are advised not to use a mobile phone in public or on the move (convienince of having a mobile device) to save it being stolen or snatched out of your hand. Wouldn't it be nicer if the phone makers made them less desirable to steal with anti theft technology that disables the phone and that the criminals can't get around, thus allowing people to use their phones for their intended purpose, communication on the move.
  9. I could be wrong but I suspect it's the East Dulwich chapter of the hills Angels, a 70s worshiping cult with a spiritual leader, Benny Hill, who like nothing better then revving up a coffee machine and making coffee as it was in the 70s and grease clogs up their hair not their arterys Of course I suspect I'm totally wrong so I will shrug my shoulders and say no idea !
  10. Silver (lining)
  11. What amuses me is the advertising campaign claiming an end to estimated bills Years ago (whilst the earth was cooling down and we still all used a milkman on a daily basis) the gas and electricity companies employed meter readers who visited every household on a regular basis, read the meters and your bill was based on this reading (not estimated) Then to save money the number of meter readers was cut and customers were asked to read their own meters, which resulted in people not being bothered or able to read the meter, and a rise in estimated bills. Now the companies need to reduce the number of estimated bills so are spending millions (which ultimately we will pay for) to install so called smart meters because they tried to save money by getting rid of the majority of their meter readers in the first place. Madness
  12. Is Jedi knight a religious designation on there ?
  13. Giving away E ? Wow it's like being back in the 90s all over again man lol
  14. Has anyone received one of the new pound coins today (launch day) and if so have you managed to use it in a machine (parking meter, ticket machine...) or are they not bring accepted yet ?
  15. Old planning application rah Barry parade planbuild.southwark.gov.uk:8190/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=summary&keyVal=_STHWR_DCAPR_9561332 Was withdrawn and nothing new since Hopefully not a supermarket when planning is put in as it would be a dangerous corner with people parking badly to get their ready meals and also Barry's just down the road is perfect for the area
  16. No worse a job than the presidential pipe cleaner

  18. For random abuse there is brambles For parking fines ( and everything else) there is MasterCard Priceless ...
  19. Sadly with changes to vans using the recycling centre and charges for bulk waste collection, it's possible that this is only the tip of the forthcoming rubbish iceberg Agree best to use approved waste removal companies but people being people will go for the cheapest option.
  20. Until 2020 it's optional so you can say no thank you Not sure what happens after 2020 tbh

Maybe we could do the same to this fellow
