  1. Or exploring the 11th coolest place on the planet
  2. I passed by it yesterday and what I think were attempts to divert pedestrians away from the building are now ineffectual as the barriers have been moved. It looks horrendous, the photos posted on the other thread don?t show how dangerous it is.
  3. You may be off the hook - I?ve noticed autocorrect changes its to it?s. I blame technology.
  4. Over the years, I?ve had many frogs visiting my garden though there isn?t any water. One year, one of my cats took a fancy to one, and would, very gently and without doing it any harm, bring it down from the bottom of the garden to just outside my back door and crouch on the ground staring at it nose to nose. I would rescue the frog and ?encourage? it to return to the bottom of the garden but before very long my cat had brought it back to the house end. One morning, bleary eyed on my way to the kitchen for the morning coffee, I saw what I thought was a bit of fluff like you get from the vacuum cleaner. I had a major shock when, on nudging it with my toe, it jumped 2 foot in the air!

  6. This is at the discretion of the practice
  7. The City of London collects hazardous waste including paint from most boroughs in London https://www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/services/environment-and-planning/waste-and-recycling/household-waste-and-recycling/Pages/Hazardous-Waste.aspx
  8. I believe that it is proposed that the 45 which currently runs up Blackfriars Road to Kings Cross will terminate at Elephant and Castle so I guess the rerouting of the no 40 is to replace the northern end of that route.
  9. Within the legal context, the court lays down a timetable when documents are to be served, not received, and if proof of posting is obtained, as long as it is at least 2 days before the service date, then service is deemed to have been made within the stipulated timeframe, regardless of whether it is delivered or not. So proof of posting is not proof of delivery.
  10. To continue to discuss whether foxes attack cats or not is missing the point of the findings of the Police and their expert witnesses. They do not conclude that these poor cats have been attacked and killed by foxes, their deaths have been attributed to injuries incurred by being hit by cars. Even Streatham Hill Vets in their facebook post overlook this.
  11. So does hanging up as soon as you hear an unfamiliar voice saying "hello, how are you?"

I think James has enough to do! https://www.southwark.gov.uk/street-care/fly-tipping
  13. I believe the land is still governed by a lease from Dulwich Estates to the company that were running the pub before the fire so would it not be for that company to take action regarding eviction etc? They don't seem the slightest bit interested in the property so they could well do nothing.
  14. This is London, more heavily populated than the countryside in France, and as such it makes us more aware of our own personal space and that of others. This may make us appear unfriendly but necessary for survival in a busy city. I find most of the people working in stores in ED responsive when approached and low key at other times which is how I like it. Different environments produce different responses.

    Hot air

I saw it a little earlier when it was perfectly stationery. I think it's offering the balloon for advertising messages.
  18. But when you know it's sheets of tiles made to look like bricks, it's somehow not the same
  19. I noticed that when I was passing by the other day. As long as they pass safety standards, I don't see a problem. Makes me wonder how many other new buildings are using the same system.
  20. See last but one sentence
  21. EDAG don't call them banners now, they're called an outdoor exhibition. Spin. They are involving the residential community too late, the time to have done that was before the decision to install banners was made.
  22. "The same bucket of keek that seemed to be behind the lame banners on the lane furore of yore" Except it is not of yore but very much still live. The group have invited people to submit photographs of East Dulwich and the winning entries will be printed onto banners hanging from lamp posts. I am more supportive of a mural opposite East Dulwich station. The group called for those interested in creating the mural to express their interest and I guess the short list has been drawn up from responses received. We do need to know how the mural is being funded and who is behind the whole EDAG. Dan Rigby of ED and Tomlinsons was the very first to post about this but is now keeping a very low profile. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,1787147,page=1
  23. This year I?ve used something called Slug Gone which is laid around the plants which the slugs / snails won?t cross. It?s made from wool, surprisingly, and it?s been very effective. I found it at Shannons in Forest Hill http://www.sluggone.com
