  1. Hello, have a look at the thread in this link and in particular the very good posts from poster boomshake22 on 28th April. Hope this is helpful /forum/read.php?5,2180997,page=1
  2. She didn't sadly pass away, she was murdered, stabbed to death (and as heartblock says very probably one of the 2 female victims per week who lose their lives in domestic violence). My deepest sympathies to her loved ones and friends.
  3. It is the contrast to other threads about recent murders that struck me. People felt the need to pay their respects then, rather than keep silent. I'm not sure what the silence represents but I don't think it is mawkish to want to acknowledge this particular loss of life in our neighbourhood. We're all different, I guess.
  4. I feel uncomfortable that only me and one other person have acknowledged this murder in our neighbourhood on the EDF. The news doesn't quite fit under the banner "General ED issues/gossip" because it feels disrespectful to describe it as gossip, but in the Lounge there have been 693 views of a thread about this and only 1 comment. I wonder why this is? The last murder I can remember in ED generated a thread of 5 pages. I hope with all my heart that it's that people don't know what to say, rather than thinking "oh well it was just a domestic, doesn't affect me".
  5. Devastating. Thoughts are with this woman's loved ones whoever and wherever they may be.
  6. That's awful! So sorry for your son Lilo.

    No, sir

If you are female, and in Plymouth, they call you Maid.
  8. Who placed between Manumua at 14th and Hubbard at 7th? Who were the "lots of other people?" Was it 6 women who still got pushed down by competing with a transwoman who has all the indesputabale advantages (in weight lifting at least) of being born male and living with male hormones and muscles and stature and everything else for 40 years?
  9. I hear you oimissus, although I would agree it is inflammatory and probably unwise of you to refer to the weight lifter as "he" because then you make it too easy for people to shout this is proof you are transphobic. For myself, I find it is inflammatory to refer to women as "cis" or "genetic women". Horribly offensive. Women and transwomen covers it fine. The total dismantling of all women's sports is a niche subject hmm? who could ever have imagined.
  10. John L - you freeze it.
  11. I saw some of them today. They would make me laugh if it wasn't funny.
  12. Good to hear MrsB. All the best to you after a truly horrible experience.
  13. I know nothing about the identity of the assailant just to be clear, but what people need to be aware of is that even if this a male who identifies as female without having had transitional surgery and hormone therapy, these crimes will be recorded as having been committed by a woman. I'm not saying this is what has happened in this specific case, but it is what is going on now in the light of the GRA. Male violence is recorded as female violence if the offender identifies as female no matter their physical body.
  14. Really terrible police work.
  15. taper Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Two more attacks on Wood Vale yesterday > apparently. Sounds like the same person. Could you post links to these reports? Can we have more of a description? Someone who reads this forum might be able to help identify him.
  16. I would actually go to the press with that disgusting police response.
  17. What is the point of the alert then?
  18. You can of course get your second jab elsewhere without waiting for an invitation. Book directly on the NHS Website. We had ours at the pharmacy on Rosendale Road yesterday - not too far to go.
  19. At the moment my local Facebook groups (including the other East Dulwich Forum, East Dulwich Mums, SE23 Mums etc) are full of shared posts warning of attempted child abductions in south London. I think there have been maybe 5 or 6 conversations started in the last week. Is this actually happening and if so why isn't it in the news? I'm inclined to believe this is a case of people sharing "news" that they haven't actually verified in any way. But who am I to know. Can anyone share any light?
  20. We are both over 50 and not had the option to get vaccinated at the Tessa Jowell centre for either first or second jab. We had to go a bit further afield (plenty of choices). We live in SE22. All a bit of a mystery!
  21. I didn't get a reply but I do wonder who the complainer complained to? And how that complaint was forwarded on to the OP of the thread. Is there anyone TO complain to at that time of day?
  22. It's sad to see a local business close, but I don't feel Franklins Farm Shop quite filled the gap left behind by Pretty Traditional on North Cross Road. Then again, if you want to go fruit/vegetable shopping and buy many kilos of say potatoes, onions, carrots etc to last for the week for a family but can't park anywhere within a 5 minute walk ... that's another problem.
  23. According to the school, "getting in" without a scholarship is a pure lottery (unless of course you have an older sibling in the school). So I don't think you can do anything to help.
  24. The one in Nunhead is closed too. I had to brave the incredibly grumpy crowd at Chesterfield Grove last week. I wouldn't give them my business if I had a choice.
