  1. Hi Peckham Rose. I use public transport and walk as do most of the Councillors. Several Councillors cycle. Renata
  2. Hi Happyduck, if you rent out your property as a 4 bed property, it will be a HMO property, but it won't need an HMO license unless it is rented to 5 or more people (eg if you convert a lounge to a bedroom) but depending on location it may need a licence. This is when all the measures posted by Ghlpc come into place. There is a Southwark Licensing scheme for rented properties who covers smaller HMOs within the pink zones on the map. https://geo.southwark.gov.uk/connect/analyst/mobile/#/main?overlays=PRS%20Selective%20Housing%20Licensing%20Pink%20Zone 4 (or fewer) unrelated people and outside a pink zone currently means that no Licence is required. 3. Hi, you don't say how old your children are This one has indoor flumes and both and indoor and outdoor pool. (great for under 12s I would say) Ch?teau Lez Eaux Campsite In the Netherlands rather than France (An actual waterpark/campsite rather than campsite with pools with flumes) https://www.duinrell.com/tiki-pool
  4. Hi all, we haven't got the information yet, once it's out I will post on here. It's always just the LA primary schools as the voluntary aided (faith) and academies set their own admission processes. For non-LA schools you'll need to contact the schools directly. Renata ps I am a Peckham Rye Ward Councillor, the Nunhead and Queen's Road Councillors are Gavin Edwards, Sandra Rhule and Sunil Chopra. Peckham Rye Ward does encompass the southern part of Nunhead, the area to the East of Peckham Rye Park and part of Honor Oak.
  5. Hi Jellybean, I've heard good things about the school. You will have been added to John Donne's waiting list, so you may get a place at John Donne in the next few weeks/months. As you live near Queen's Road Station, another school to consider is Hollydale. Renata
  6. Hi, there is a Polish school near Forest Hill Station. I think they have classes on Friday evenings and on Saturdays http://www.polskamacierz.org/placemarks/london-brocley-lewisham-polska-szkola-sobotnia-london-brocley-lewisham/ Renata
  7. Hi, try Nunhead Carpets, next to Beaumont the greengrocers on Evelina Rd in Nunhead. Renata
  8. Hi Johnie, I'm sorry that you didn't get any of your choices. If you think of other schools you would like to consider, you can be added to their waiting lists. There is usually significant movement on waiting lists between now and September. Unfortunately LAs can't open any new schools themselves. I have reported that there is an issue for some parents to log into the system (yes HPSaucey, I had spotted this thread!). I suspect that there may be some IT issue as I have received no emails since 5.15pm. Usually we get some information on this year's stats but I haven't received this yet. Renata
  9. Hi Laura and Tara, Regarding the tyre swings, the issue is to do with the bolts that connect the tyres to the chains, it is a design flaw that sits with the company that provided the equipment. The contractor and Officers have been liaising with the company to resolve this. Officers say this should be resolved soon. I understand that the team on site are monitoring the weather and will indeed turn off the water should there be any icy weather. Officers have mentioned that the water play is still very popular, so has left it on at this stage while the weather is so mild. I would suggest maybe starting a new thread in regard to the Peckham Rye playgrounds as it looks like a thread about the Goose Green one. Renata
  10. Hi all, a new sub-post office is opening within Kristal Pharmacy on Evelina Rd in Nunhead :). I was involved in the campaign to try and save the Gibbon Rd post-office about a decade ago (which was profit making, but still was closed!)and this is definitely needed, even more so since the Rye Lane post office closed down. The opening is scheduled for Monday 28th January. Renata
  11. Hi Monkey, Happy New Year if you contact Southwark School Admissions they should be able to let you know which primary schools close to you have vacancies.Their email is [email protected] You'll need to fill an in-year transfer form. Good luck, please contact me if you need any help. Renata
  12. Sorry, I've been very busy. I contacted a member of the Events Team but he hasn't got back to me yet and the Council offices are now closed until the new year. I found this on the Southwark Website: http://www.southwark.gov.uk/events-culture-and-heritage/planning-an-event/major-commercial-events/stakeholder-engagement?chapter=2 The License application is for the alcohol license and considers the license application in relation to the four licensing objectives as stated by EDWill above For applications under the Licensing Act 2003, your representation must be based on one of the four licensing objectives, under the Act: prevention of crime and disorder prevention of public nuisance public safety protection of children from harm Renata
  13. The damaged happened as there was heavy rain after the festival, before the site was dismantled. My understanding of the situation:- All vehicles were supposed to drive over protective covering if there had been rain. One vehicle arrived much later than it was supposed to, the protective covering had already been removed. This vehicle caused the damage. We then had exceptionally dry weather so nothing could be done to repair the damage as the ground was too hard. The area cordoned off required treatment so that the furrows would be filled in and the top reseeded, this required wetter weather which we have now had and the work has been done. We are the Fair paid for the reinstatement works. Renata
  14. The consultation on the license application is here, if you click on the "how to make a representation", you can lodge your thoughts for or against this application (please note there is some website maintenance work going on an some of the pages come up unformated!) http://app.southwark.gov.uk/licensing/LicPremisesAppliedDetails.asp?systemkey=865977 Renata
  15. St Francesca Cabrini has their fair this Saturday, 1st December 11.30-2.30pm
  16. Yes I agree PeckhamRose, also the 185,176 or 40 to Denmark Hill. Also, P12 or cycle to Nunhead Station or if you have a car you could drive to Nunhead and park near the station eg in Linden Grove. Everything will take longer than usual! Renata
  17. I have no crystal ball, but it's highly likely this will cause havoc for everyone who uses Rye Lane. The information given to us about buses, is that they will be diverted along the A2215, ie from the Peckham end, instead of turning into Hannover Park, they will go along Clayton, Consort and Heaton Road and visa versa. This is the same diversion used when there have been previous short-term closures of Rye Lane. Allow extra time for all bus journeys and to get to the train station, and please support the businesses along Rye Lane. Renata
  18. Hi Laura and Tea, thanks for bringing this to my attention I'll find out why they have been removed and get back to you on this. Renata
  19. Don't forget to check you have submitted your application for 2019 secondary school places. Today is the last day! Renata
  20. Hi Pedro, please could you report this to the police. There is CCTV coverage of the area outside Nunhead station. You mention that they had their faces and the bike number plates covered, but if they are known to the local police they may be able to track them down. Renata
  21. Hi these two schools are quite far apart in primary school terms. Have you also looked at Rye Oak, St Mary Magdalene and Hollydale? Hollydale is a small school with no nursery, but there is St Mary's pre-school very close to it, and many Hollydale children go there. I would suggest visiting all the schools when they have open days and attend their Christmas fetes. I would check the last place offered distances in the Starting Primary School brochure on the Southwark Website Renata
  22. Hi Tuffie, I will pm you a couple of places that are worth a try. Renata
  23. Hi HP, I agree, I think once the novelty of a new playground has settled, the age range will work in the space. Thanks for bringing the barrier issue to my attention, I'll report this. Renata
  24. Hi Pugwash, having experienced similar problems myself in the past, I would second Penguin's suggestion. I reported it to the sorting office. It was due to annual leave and it did improve after I reported the issue :) Renata
