  1. Yes I absolutely agree Huguenot. I was just reporting something I found out from someone actually in and from Japan.
  2. I was just on skype with my friend from Kobe who said it is a million times worse what the BBC are repeporting. 100s of dead bodies found every hour, all of the beaches are full of dead bodies.
  3. OMG thank you for posting this. I have heard this myself around the Gardens and it's driving me insane. I think it's the same buggers that are doing this. They are often out pretty late as well whizzing past over and over again. I'd love to know what I can do too about this.
  4. Here Queenie23: Dunamis2011 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- ...Haberdashers sent a letter that they were aware that they were not placed higher!
  5. A massive earthquake 8.9 magnitude has struck NorthEast Japan about 8 hours ago and has triggered a devasting 10m high tsunami. My thoughts, concerns, and deepest sympathies go out to the people of Japan. BBC news coverage show the sheer devastation of it all. My god this is just so sad I wish I could do something. Anyone concerned about friends and family call: 0207 008 0000 (set up by the foreign office)
  6. Congratulations! My Mum had five, 4 girls followed lastly by a boy, so I'll get her on the forum if you need any advice!

  8. There's no way in the world I would judge a Mum for bottle feeding. If I'm looking at you it's definitely because I'm doing as Pickle said and thinking 'awwwwwwww how unbelievably cute is that baby.' Who is anyone to judge anyway?- they don't know you, or your circumstances. They really they have no right to judge.
  9. Oh my god I loved that story!
  10. No tongue in cheek believe me! you just have to read all of silverfox' posts I'm afraid to see this guy is deadly serious :-/
  11. Well said Huguenot

Yum I love Swedish food, thanks for that
  13. I actually think 'casual' racism like that of Galliano's is just as bad if not worse than overt racism.
  14. I think I'll leave you to put up the rest of your thoughts around East Dulwich on your printed A4 sheets. Enjoy the Caps lock
  15. Hmmm you know his CEO is Jewish right??? Just realised you took the video clip from the Sun silverfox, that speaks volumes!
  16. Please don't tell me what to do. Are you telling me the people in the video that showed Galliano saying I love Hitler. You should be all gassed' is them playing the 'Jewish race card' as you call it!!!! Get a grip silverfox, how you can defend anyone who would say such disgusting things is beyond me. If you're provoked, are you going to throw insults around like that? Do you actually understand the implications of what he's saying? Do you actually understand the Holocaust and what happened? And Israel has to defend itself because they have nations denying their existence and regularly bombing them. We don't. So I don't know what you're implying about that either. That we should be like them even though our situation is completely different? We're not under attack you know. Muggings also happen in Israel. My friend lives there has had her bag stolen before, phone stolen before. The police don't do anything more there- in fact probably less- than here. The sight of a few army officers with weapons wouldn't scare off a mugger over there. They can't just randomly use their weapons for anything you know. Some of their laws are more laxed than ours.
  17. I didn't swear actually, I said twit but with an 'a' instead of an 'i'. Unfortunately the forum thinks this is more offensive than your posts! 'Jewish card'??? That speaks volumes because I don't know what that's supposed to imply. There is no such thing as a Jewish card, but this is very telling of why you are defending Galliano. I suggest you do a bit of reading around the Galliano subject silverfox- how anti-semiticism is on the rise again, and that his outburst is a symptom of something much deeper and darker. Also you know there's a Jewish saying: you can tell what's in the heart of a man by how he behaves when he's drunk, when he's angry and when he has money. (if anyone is confused there's a Galliano thread in the Drawing Room with silverfox excusing Galliano). Anyway, back to the subject, the solutions lay with harsher prison sentences IMO, better parenting, better role models. Violence and violence don't mix.
  18. I'm a woman silverfox, and by the sounds of it, you're a twat What on earth does the Royal Wedding have to do with anything? I couldn't give a crap about the monarchy. They can shove their wedding up their arses! I do give a crap about my neighbours as do others on this forum. That's what a local community is. Jeez, no wonder you're sticking up for Galliano. Got anything to say about Jews because I'm Jewish too you know!
  19. Are you a closet racist too Silverfox?
  20. Wow what a wonderful role model you are silverfox! I'm really hoping you've been drinking tonight and are not serious.
  21. Well that's just my opinion. I'm London born and bred so maybe that's what makes my opinion different. What I'd really like to see is one thread instead of one everytime something happens. Then it's not quite so scary for some.
  22. What a nightmare, they should definitely have given you a discount for the fishcake- I can't believe people working with food still don't know what a vegetarian is.
  23. Except there aren't really any descriptions of the muggers on here- just age and ethnity which really isn't a description. I think we'll have to agree to disagree here.
  24. Good point DJKQ,perhaps there could be a thread about precautions to take because I feel it is becoming a bit sensationalist like oh dear what is becoming of ED. first mate, I personally feel that break ins are more organised crimes than muggings (although I'm sure it depends on the actual criminal. I know some muggings can be carried out by organised gangs but from what it sounds like these are mostly opportunist criminals). Thus, a break in is really important to report on the forum, where as I'm not sure a mugging is. I expect my neighbour to tell me if they've been broken into, but I wouldn't expect them to tell me they were mugged unless the police had told them it was part of a criminal gang making a habit out of it and operating in the area.
  25. Well I don't think it should be known as the place to talk about this sort of thing if it's having a negative and scaremongering effect on the usual users of the forum. We KNOW these things happen, and whilst I have EXTREME sympathy for the victims, I'd rather the forum didn't become like a newspaper. Watch the news, read the papers- a lot of what you read and see is about crime. I don't turn a blind eye to these things but I don't want to read/see it everywhere, especially not on a community forum. I love this forum for the community it creates. I think reporting these crimes on here can actually have a detrimental effect on that community because if everyone is suddenly going to become scared and insular then what community do we actually have? There's plenty of sh*%ts in this world, there's plenty of decent people. Let's just trust our instincts to decide on the difference.
