    Rasta Mouse

Surprise surprise I just read that the complaints have come from the godawful mumsnet! It's a unambiguous positive portrayal. Rasta mouse is fighting crime afterall. One caller to Radio 5 Live put it best when he said (with tongue firmly in cheek) how terrible it was for the programme to be reinforcing all of those stereotypes of black people fighting against crime. In regards to Jewish Mouse Wee Quinie, there is a history of Jews being portrayed in a derogatory way, but I'm sure if it was a unequivocally positive portrayal then there wouldn't be any objections.
  2. Exactly Ridgely.

I love Rasta mouse! It's not racist at all. Re: GinaG3, I don't understand why the Rasta cannabis association gets you. It's part of the Rastafari movement. They use it spiritually, as do the holy men in India.
  4. Me too Ridgely

  10. As a really really small framed woman in every sense, 4"10 with extremely narrow hips, I was just wondering what other tiny framed women have experienced with childbirth if there are any on this forum? I know the usual mantra is if you're small you're child is likely to be small, my doctor has already told me this, but what if your OH isn't?! I'd appreciate advice from tiny women please!

  14. Ok, there is no real difference between spots and acne, it is just a matter of quantity which is what I meant. If you have a few, they are usually referred to as ?spots?, ?pimples? or ?zits?. But if you have quite a lot of whiteheads, blackheads or angry-looking inflamed spots, it is referred to as acne. As the OP uses the word spots I was assuming it wasn't that severe. The website for Aknicare looks good actually-it gives alot of information like the different types of acne and the different treatments available. What I meant about chemicals is that if you use things that are too harsh they can strip the skin and make the skin worse so go with a recommendation I'd say.
  15. This brand is good, can be used on babies and is natural. http://www.lessmosquito.com/ You can buy it online or in retailers. They sell it in Whole Foods and I should be going to High Street Kensington tomorrow so let me know if you wanted me to grab you one. Zeban
  16. There's a big difference between acne and spots/oily skin and if it's spots/oily skin do not go anywhere near medication or harsh products, in fact they'll make it worse. If you're really worried/it's bad and getting her/him down go to your GP or/and a dermatologist. There are different types of spots/acne and different ways to tackle them. Do a lot of research on the net but I'd recommend only natural products with no chemicals. And I really wouldn't even be considering extreme measures like laser yet.
  17. Hmmm not sure where you're getting your hair cut but I used to work in a hairdresser a while back and it was nothing like that. My hairdresser also isn't like that, and I'm sure hairdressers on the forum would say you're talking crap!
  18. Lol! Love it Loz
  19. Don't get the above Annette. I think I'm missing something here. Anyway, thanks again Ridgely, the exact advice I needed (tu)
  20. Twitter/Facebook/social media Anyway, It's amazing what can happen when people stop bitching and become pro-active!!
  21. I'm not sure but I wouldn't be surprised as social media played a large role in spreading the word
  22. Why the emphasis on 'We' DC? - you know , every country is not determined by it's role in relation to the West. It's so arrogant. Yes it remains to be seen how all of this turns out but the Egyptians are fully aware of this and I for one am remaining positive. In so far as an achievement, it's pretty well done I'd say.
  23. Good for the Egyptian people
  24. .
  25. Ok I'm now lost and confused..
