  1. Travelodge do a breakfast deal. Rise & Dine Try our new delicious and unlimited breakfast, for only ?7.95, now served with Lavazza coffee. And remember, kids eat free! Looks reasonable Foxy
  2. It was a good location many years ago when you could drive to the pub.. That's why it has a vast car park. People do not generally drive to the pub anymore.. Its not convenient for a family to walk or get buses to the venue. Especially in winter months.. There is far too much going in East Dulwich proper i.e. Lordship Lane to satisfy the majority of local residents. Cannot see why people would want to stay in a hotel there. Dulwich is hardly a holiday destination and with many people here thinking transport links to the West End and such not being ideal. Would be nice to see a pub back there but cannot see it ever being viable. Most of the walkers in the woods end up in the Dulwich Wood house but not more than a handful of those at weekends and even fewer during the week. You can walk from the Grove to the Wood House without seeing a soul... DulwichFox

Yep.. On 9 April 1969, Brian Trubshaw made his first flight in the British-built prototype. The 22 minute flight left from a test runway at Filton near Bristol and landed at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire. http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/dates/stories/march/2/newsid_2514000/2514535.stm DulwichFox
  4. I may of mentioned this before, but in a bid to ease parking around Lordship lane area the Grove what ever it becomes with its large carpark would be ideal for a Park & Ride Scheme.. I have mentioned it before in fact. There you go. I've said it again.. DulwichFox
  5. I once flew back from Malaga to Gatwick but was diverted to Birmingham due to fog.. We parked up next to Concorde. So good view. It was tiny. maybe also on divert.. Delay at Malaga . Then fog..Gatwick Then a further delay on eventual landing back at Gatwick due to Saudi Prince demanding clear air space.. Malaga - Gatwick 7 hour trip. Foxy..
  6. Being woke up by leaf swalowing machine at 6.00am.. ? Aircraft at 5.30am not a problem then.. DulwichFox
  7. This was the conversation.. 70 years ago 1 man created a machine so vast it resulted in the deaths of millions of men, women and children globally. Foxy what machine has killed millions that was created 70 years ago ? I was thinking nuclear weapons but the figure you state is grossly over the death count from that machine. Hitler. The Nazis. Are you one of those in denial about the Holocaust ? And the millions of Russians that died. Oh I see Foxy, when you say machine you mean regime - with you now. All sorted.. No malice intended.. 10. Utter nonsense Blah Blah.. Small in number ? 70 years ago 1 man created a machine so vast it resulted in the deaths of millions of men, women and children globally. That was an ideology such as we face today from a different group of extremists. Some of which may well be already amongst us. DulwichFox
  11. Hi Ozzy.. I was up at Kings last week when I heard someone call out my name.. It was the lady in question. Her name is Carol. She was in a wheel chair being escorted by Hospital Porter for a check up. She is back home ? Staying with her daughter as she cannot manage stairs at her own place.. She has a lot of complicated iron rods supporting her right leg. She seems to be in good spirits considering what she has been through.. Let us all wish her all the best in further recovery.. Thank you so much for your concern.. DulwichFox
  12. When I was working I would do a weekly shop at the week end.. Being retired I tend to be out most days shopping locally on foot although I take the car when I need heavy / bulky stuff like Bleach / paper towels / washing powder and tinned produce.. bottled Beer.. Wine. DulwichFox
  13. Wasn't it once a Military shop selling army stuff... badges, medals etc. DulwichFox
  14. Correct me if I'm wrong but is it not true that the rise in Mini Supermarkets is due to Sunday trading laws. where if the square footage of a store is under a certain limit, stores can remain open longer and are not limited to open 10.00 till 16.00 ?? DulwichFox

The problem with the 63 extention to HOP is where the buses would terminate / park up and where they could turn around. DulwichFox
  16. I'm coming if not already counted for. Foxy

Because it would take away the Stigma of the '?-Shop image' that some people had about Iceland. Foxy.
  18. It IS of concern to others (Well, neighbours either side) When buildings are neglected it can lead to water ingress. walls / wall plates / joists can be affected to neighbouring buildings causing serious damage in some occasions. Risk of fire. Also there is a risk of insect infestation and mice, even rats. Needs to sorted. DulwichFox
  19. Huggers.. Re: why have we got a 20mph zone? Posted by Huggers October 05, 12:56PM I've just been camera flashed driving alongside Nunhead Cemetery driving I think at 25 mph. I had no idea it was a 20mph zone. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Police priorities? Teen son stopped again! Posted by Huggers Yesterday, 08:02PM This morning, just after leaving house for sixth form, and yes smoking a crafty fag, my 17 year old son was stopped by a passing speeding cop car which screeched to a halt, two policemen got out and asked him if he was smoking cannabis -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Re: Professional dog walkers a menace Posted by Huggers October 28, 07:27PM there were community police officers in Nunhead Cemetery this morning doing dog monitoring. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Parking ticket, borderline? Posted by Huggers Today, 01:39PM I went to Dulwich Gallery today and parked in the off-road recessed parking opposite the gallery, to the right of the park gates. I couldn't believe there was a space. No sign of anything but wiggley lines. Of course i got a ticket- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Think they are definitely out to get you. :) Foxy
  20. It's a proper Caf? where blokes can go.. DulwichFox
  21. Yep.. An Iceland but with East Dulwich prices. Tea Bags ?4.50 for 12. That might help some people feel better about themselves when shopping there. :) Foxy
  22. Thank fellows.. I've had a run of good luck.. Certainly not skill. I really do know very little about football. I do not watch much football apart from Millwall and that's not a good testimonial believe me. Well done to RD too this week. Also 12 points. Foxy

  24. I can remember back in the late 60's when I was little, going down East Lane market on a Remembrance Sunday morning and my dad telling me to stand still. Everyone was standing still and the men took off their hats. Cars and Buses also stopped in the road. Drivers got out and stood by their cars.. Hard to imagine now.. but back then much of Peckham & Camberwell right up to the Elephant and Castle and the City were still flattened. DulwichFox
  25. FT: Aston Villa 0 - 0 Manchester City .. Who predicted that.. I had City to win 3-0. Foxy.
