Why does the Co-op never have any food on the shelves?
DulwichFox replied to eucalyptus's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I mentioned in an earlier post Milk being 55p whist it is 48p in most of the other major Supermarkets. The Co-op in Downham near Bromley charges 48p for Milk, so it seems prices are higher in East Dulwich. There is Nothing special about East Dulwich. that justifies a 14.6% hike in price. -

Tower Bridge has been 20 MPH since at least the 70's A work colleague of mine back then was stopped by Police on his Scooter which had many mirrors When asked by police why did he think he had been stopped? He said dont know. Speeding said the copper. No said my colleage. I saw you in my mirrors, I made sure I kept my speed just under 30 MPH Your nicked said the copper. It's a 20 MPH over the Bridge The 20 MPH signs are very clear.

Old Kent Road? My mother lives in Downham so we normally go to Beckenham.. But sometimes she fancies a little ride around so we do go to Old Kent Rd or Surrey Keys. After all she often pays to top up the car. :) -

My little > Micra wouldn't take that much even if it was > empty! I don't spend ?50.00 on petrol. I take my 86 year old mum shopping each week and if we spend ?50 in store between us on our weekly shop, I get 5p off every litre of petrol I buy. and the normal price is no dearer than most garages. and still get points on our club card (which we share) which add up so we get more vouchers to spend. -

I get regular correspondence through my door from Virgin Media. Goes straight in my waste paper recycling bag. I use BT.OpenWorld Not the cheapest but very reliable and competent Engineers available to speak to if something does go wrong. -
Why does the Co-op never have any food on the shelves?
DulwichFox replied to eucalyptus's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Was in The Co-op earlier today. Looked at the Fish and meat but nearly all of it was Reduced because it had reached it's Use By Date. Quickly picked up a bag of New Potatoes only to find 'When I got home' they too had been reduced because they had just 2 days to their Best By Date. There is virtually nothing fresh in that store. Also Bought a pint of Milk. 55p All the major supermarkets charge 48p All you Members recieving Divvy paid into your accounts are certainly paying for it. I normally shop at Tescos. The prices are cheaper and my mother and I get regular vouchers (?30-?40+ p.a.) that can be spent on anything in store and also 5p off every litre of petrol when we spend ?50.00+ -

DulwichFox replied to eucalyptus's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Considering the Co-Op was started as a 'Peoples Store' with fair prices, Anyone remember the 'Divvy' Dividends. They were the little tin cheques that you could collect and spend in the store. the prices are not exactly Cheap. High Prices and Use by Date so short, you would be lucky to get your goods home before they have gone off. I use it to pay some Utility Bills as they have Pay-Point. -
I have Never heard the Term 'Chugging' before... But understand what you are all on about. 'Chuggers' ?? Just ignore them. Simple. I give money to Genuine Collectors like Red Cross, RNLI Life Boats, RNIB. I myself have been a Collector for The RNLI. Some Years back. Licenced Spot. Rules:- Do not approach people. Do not Rattle the Box. Never give money at the door. NONE of the genuine Charities Collect at the Door.

Sainsbury Car Park - Attacks on women
DulwichFox replied to soyamocha3's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
East Dulwich has become a haven for Street Robbery and Muggings. Robbers are spoilt for choice with Rich Pickings and easy targets. I myself have seen women late evening in the local Pubs and Bars with 'Concetinas' of Credit and Store Cards. Leave your cards at home. Just take enough money with you to pay for your Evening's Drinks. then if you get robbed it will be not so painful. Losing your cards is a real pain, having to report them missing late at night. and then having to inform all the organizations that your card details have been changed. Despite some Bars policy, NEVER leave your card behind the Bar. Your card company will not reinburse you if your card is cloned. You are not insured. -
Sorry I will try and make less noise on my way home. DulwichFox :))

Wheelie bin missing - will Southark charge me for a new one?
DulwichFox replied to Fliss's topic in The Lounge
The Bin Men have a habit of only 'Lifting every 3rd / 4th bin. or dragging your bin half way up the road. You don't know where it will end up. Last week the Bin Men Left my Wheelie Bin with one of the wheels off. I Bent down and put the wheel back on only to find the axle was outside the bin frame. Tried prising the wheel off so I could locate it properly. Nothing would budge it. Called Southwark Council yesterday morning. New Bin was delivered this morning. Good Service Southwark Council 0207 525 5000 -
Sorry to hear about your friend. Hope she has recovered. You say she drank 2.5 to 3 over several hours. So amount unsure. Might of been more as the time ticked by. No Sambuccas, ?? Jaeger-Bombs ?? people tend to forget to count them. (?) A lot of bars these days sell Strong Cider. 1 pint of Ordinary Cider has about 2-3 units whilst the Strongest cider is 5.7 units So 3 Pints Cider will contain between 6 - 17.1 units. 17 units is like drinking 8.5 pint of normal stregnth Beer or 5-6 pint of Lager (Peroni) Did your friend eat any food. ? Drinking over long periods without food will speed up absorbsion of alcohol into your blood. Think it unlikely she was spiked if nobody else was involved in your company. Probably need to re-calculate just how much she drank and how strong it was. Fox.
