When Michael Palaeologus our organiser thinks we have enough interest for a night out and we decide where we are going, just say if you can make that night and turn up. Normally we meet up in the nearest Pub to the restaurant at 7.00pm and go to eat at 8.0pm ish DulwichFox -
The Catholic Church could foot the bill a hundred times over.

So if there were a General Election Main Choices could be. In no particular order. 1, Boris Johnson 2. Nigel Farage 3. Jeremy Corbyn 4. Vince Cable Or forget about an Election and Let the EU continue to run the country. Foxy.

From various News programs it was stated that the original Timber roof used 1,200 mature Oak trees. The timbers are hidden and it is likely a replacement roof would be a steel construction complying with modern building regulations. Hopefully not another 1,200 trees. DulwichFox

Brown bin collection - Council starting to charge?
DulwichFox replied to slarti b's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Southwark will save money by not having to collect garden waste. And make money by Fining people who get caught / reported by neighbours when they burn garden waste. Its the way forward for everything these days. FINES. -
Brown bin collection - Council starting to charge?
DulwichFox replied to slarti b's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Got a letter this morning. The charge will be ?30.00 P/A for Garden waste I do not have much garden waste and only ever dispose of garden waste a couple of times a year. Not sure how that will work ? Will they take the large Brown bins away and replace with small brown bins. My Kitchen caddie bin only holds one small food waste bags. I usually use 2/3 a week. How will people be able to dispose of their food waste. DulwichFox -

We now need to get out of the EU NOW !! Deal or no deal. If we dont Britain will spend ?100,000,000 on Europe elections before Brexit to elect MEPs for a few months. What a waste of money.

When Saucy first opened several people on here criticised them for the music being too loud and could be heard across the road. This was explained as being down to new staff by the team and it would be sorted. No one had a go at those people for their comments. Soon after Saucy closed and it was the owners themselves that said they had a problem with their electrics. It wasn't me. I just queried why this wasn't addressed / doubled checked before they opened. It was not a criticism. It was just a few folk on here that made it look that way. Usual suspects. The whole thing was blown up out of all proportions. That is the True facts of the matter. No need for any apology. I did nothing wrong. DulwichFox

We had none of this S**te when we joined in the 70's Welcomed with open arms. Hotel California . 'Relax,' said the night man, We are programmed to receive. You can checkout any time you like, But you can never leave! Foxy

Let me explain . I did contact Jules on his/her private email. We had a good chat and any animosity with other users were put to one side. I will be visiting Saucy when they reopen My Health situation has Nothing to do with anything I post here on EDF. My condition is untreatable with Medicine. Treatment involves Total pancreatectomy. Removal of Pancreas a splenectomy. Removal of Spleen open cholecystectomy. Removal of Gall bladder Patial removal of my Stomach Patial removal of my Duodenum. Lifetime dependancy of Insulin, Digestive Enzymes and antibiotics. My consultant does not think I would survive such an operation. I should find out next week the teams decision as to a way forward. So perhaps that explains why I may come across at times as a miserablt git. DulwichFox

I have owned many cars/ vans. I scrapped my car in February. I have no intention to buy another one. The Motorist is an easy target for Cash Strapped Councils to make money. I've had enough of it. I have a Bus/Train Pass I don't need a car. Most of the time I walk on short journeys like Peckham Forest Hill Even sometimes to Brixton. No I am not a Doom Master. I am a realist. Foxy

I think it's worth mentioning that Many cars are simply driving through the zones. Taxis are driving in the zone all day. Many Black Cabs will not go south of the river. Is it fair to charge ?24.00 (Congestion and ULEZ) just to drive through the Zone When the Zone is extended it's going to be ?12.50 to drive to Sainsburys and back. By 2021 the charge is likely to of been increased. ?15.00 ?? ?17.50 ?? ?20.00 ??? We have no control over it. DulwichFox

Once a scheme is in place, the rules can be changed. can be made stricter. Prices can be increased like the congestion charge. Believe me, Thin end so to say. What next. Under Occupancy Fee ??? Perhaps I should not of mentioned that. do not want to put ideas into anyones head. DulwichFox

Well for one thing Older cars like mine 23 years old but only 58,000 miles on the clock possibly less polluting than some newer Gas Guzlers exempt from charge, Many companies with old vehicles will have to pay and pass the cost onto their customers. Much of the pollution does not come from engine emissions, it comes from Tyres and Brakes 20 mph zones has increased breaking and pollution.

Slough Borough Council topped the TPA list of ?highest remunerated? bosses, with interim chief executive Robert Parkin receiving a payment of ?595,077 before leaving the position in December 2017. Wirral Council was second on the list, with a managing director for delivery receiving a payment of ?569,423. Southwark possibly better at hiding top boss salaries. ?194,000 sounds low for top bosses. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/money/news/thousands-of-council-workers-are-being-paid-over-?100000-report/ar-BBVKeKi?ocid=spartandhp

It was actually ?22.80

The ULEZ is not going to make that much difference to Air Pollution in London. People who need to travel and can afford it will pay it. Poorer people who cannot afford to upgrade their vehicles will struggle to pay the charge. If #Sadiq_Khan was serious about this being about lowering air pollution he should BAN older pollutig vehicles. What he is saying is it's ok to pollute the air as long as you pay. Certainly the Congestion charge has done nothing to ease Congestion. and the ULEZ will do very little to improve air quality. DulwichFox
