It seems that it is NOT Southwark Council's policy to provide Public Toilets. Peckham is a good example. There used to be three public toilets off of Rye Lane. One in Melon road. One behind the Station and underground toilets at the top of Rye Lane at what was once The Heaton Arms.(Heaton Road) Over the years they have all been demolished. There were toilets on Peckam Rye where the old lido was. Now a nursery ?? It would seem they are too expensive to maintain and is more profitable to get the Police to monitor people who get caught short and urinate in the street and Fine them. Goose Green would be a good spot. There are a few events throughout the year where toilets really are needed. instead of having to cross the road and use The East Dulwich Tavern. DulwichFox

Where can I get rid of lots of old paint tins
DulwichFox replied to Undiscovered's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Take them to The recycling at Devon Street. Empty tins go in the General waste and Tins with paint in are available for others to help themselves. Well so I believe so. ?? DulwichFox. -

Sue.. You have often remarked that Quote.. Your memory is 'Crap' It was You that made unfounded statements about me when you suggested I had fallen out with Jaflong over a conflict with Dulwich Tandoori. 2 or so years back. At the time Jaflong had been scammed by a fake reporter claiming they would be putting a full page ad in a local paper. At the same time Dul Tan had a full page ad in the same paper. Although the two restaurants had a bit of Argy Bargy between them, I was not involved and I certainly did not have any conflict at the time with either restaurant. That was the incident that you are wrongly remembering. I have never 'Wished' the Ivy House to fail. I don't have much interest in any venue that is not in East Dulwich. I seldom venture out of the area in the evening. I support my LOCAL establishments and businesses. My recent comments were based on the input from the initial posts about sacked people and my concern for them. Sue, you need to stop this personal vendetta with me when ever I post. DulwichFox. P.S. Thats all I will say on the matter.

A community pub that employs staff on Zero Hours Contracts and does not recognise Trades Unions. Thats terrible. People need to support staff and Boycott* the Ivy House until such time as sacked workers are reinstated and Union recognition is established. * Should it reopen. DulwichFox

East Dulwich Station Mural is being painted
DulwichFox replied to eastDAG's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Having the walls painted visible to the road would be a Huge distraction to cars/ motorists. The Road is narrow there with a crossing / Bus stop. Real risk of causing accidents with slow moving heavy traffic. DulwichFox -

TfL plan to reroute Bus 40 away from London Bridge
DulwichFox replied to Bic Basher's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
This is bad News. The 40 is a useful route for East Dulwich residents.. The plans from TFL affect 33 routes.. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/transport/revealed-major-revamp-of-londons-bus-network-planned-to-tackle-pollution-and-cut-congestion-with-33-a3948696.html?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1538146945 DulwichFox -
Just passed Barclays Lordship Lane. Big queue 12-15 people at the one open window. All machines empty. Presumably not working. I would not mind betting that who ever drempt up this scheme would of been handsomely rewarded with a huge bonus. #outrageous DulwichFox

DulwichFox replied to [email protected]'s topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
If he was walking door to door .. Could he not walk to Kings.. 20-25mins. I'm assuming that as his girlfriend was in labour he is likely to be a young person.. Probably a scam. DulwichFox -
Well yes. The aircraft does appear to have no windows.. Give away. The point was that it was never claimed to be a stunt. It was mearly for intertainment value. I bet you lot call out the punchline and heckle at a comdey night. Foxy

This was not a deliberate stunt performed by the pilot in stable air. This was an aircraft hit by the storm force of a Typhoon. Foxy

DulwichFox replied to Eggybread's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I never use Tandoori nights but really hope they re-open soon. Dulwich Tandoori and Memsaab are currently chock-a-block with no seats available until after 10.00pmThur/Fri/Sat. and even some week days. DulwichFox. -
I just received an online survey about my recent visit to The East Dulwich Branch of Barclays. How satisfied was I with my experience there. ? Oh such Fun. DulwichFox.

Needed to pay my Electricity Bill. Would of done it on line But also needed go pay in a cheque so went to the Barclays on Lordship Lane. Was greeted by a member of staff. We managed to pay the cheque in. 'The Machine' reads the cheque and pays it into a selected account. Trying to pay the bill was a different story. 'The Machine' canot read the Pay Slip. You need to type all the info in yourself. The Company Name.. you get a list os alternatives and their sort codes Then yo need to enter the right sort code in the correct format or else you get an Error at the end of the transaction. You then need to manualy enter your EDF Energy account number plus a reference number. The member of staff was not able to complete the transaction. After 10-15 mins she called for assistant and a 'more senior' member of staff in a smart suit appeared. He told the first staff to go to lunch at that HE would deal. However after anoth 10 -15 mins and 2 failed attempts he advised me to go to the counter, which was closed with the blind down He told me to use the Business counter. There was a lady at the desk and another person aiting. There was a problem with the counter staff not being able to deal with the customer and a further 10 min delay There were other customers not able to work the machines and the staff unable to assist. They do not know how to operate the devices either. After 45 mins I was able to pay my bill although it has not gone throughto my EDF Energy accout yet. The whole thing is a disgrace DulwichFox ETA The internal ATMs can deal out up to ?2,000 . Handy if someone steals your card and sees your pin. They do not accept cards that are not Barclays.

Outrageous levels of Dutch people are moving to East Dulwich!
DulwichFox replied to dutch_ninja's topic in The Lounge
The Dutch are amazing.. They drink lots of beer and remain friendly. Below a Small section of the Maastrict Carnival. With a Huge main square and 2 smaller ones the streets are packed with 10's x 1,000's of people for 3 days. There is a Pub/Bar for every 200 head of population. http://imgb.igcdn.nl/140b3582d0924e48a9e5c4cf07e207a5/opener/Foto_Twan_Spierts.jpg I have been 3 Times. Its in February and it snows.
