Dulwich health centre - naming
Dulwich Born And Bred replied to B&G's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I?ll still be calling it the Dulwich Health Centre to family and friends. -
Extra loud fireworks display
Dulwich Born And Bred replied to first mate's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I love the fireworks on NYE and the 5th November. It?s expected and we are mostly prepared for the onslaught of bangs/whizzes. 10pm is pretty late for very loud fireworks that I couldn?t even see, I?m near North Cross Road and it woke my child up because of how late, loud and unexpected it was. -

Exactly this! It was the stupid o?clock that irked me. goldilocks Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Regardless of whether you loved it- 10pm is a > really antisocial time for fireworks to go off in > a residential area. It?s a really stupid time to be super noisy. -

I thought Guy Fawkes came early. It?s pretty late as well. -
Maybe he likes walking, keeps him fit. Maybe he doesn?t want people to know where he lives. Maybe he stops off somewhere on the way home. Anyway isn?t Nunhead Village posh and still SE15 and under Peckham Boundaries? Beside most people know of Peckham but not Nunhead so it?s easier just to say Peckham for those that don?t know.

As Nature Intended opening in September
Dulwich Born And Bred replied to Sue's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Organic? Really? Aside from their free range eggs, which I can?t recall if it was organic too, I?ve not spied anything bearing the organic soil association logo on any of their products. As Nature Intended opening in September

Superdrug?s doesn?t sell free from food or any food for people with dietary needs. Plus I don?t find the supplements at Superdrug?s of good quality. The issue is that SMBS,Health Matters and Organic Village now have another contender. More so Health Matters as it?s literally across the road from them. I find the Fish and Chips at Sema and Emily?s grim. None of my family can eat it. We take a trip to Ken?s to pay a fortune for the fish and chips there. Still not the best compared to all the lovely fish and chips we consumed in Dorset but the best out of a bad bunch around here. Anyone tried the fish and chips at Saucy on LL?

I stopped using them when they forgot to deliver a few times but still charged me plus the inconsistency with time keeping. -

Walk to Durlston Castle from Swanage near the pier. It?s about a twenty minutes or so scenic walk. You get to see Tilly Whim caves, The Globe, Castle and bay. It?s stunning. https://www.durlston.co.uk/ We also got an open top bus from outside Swanage Train Station and you get to go on the car ferry and take in views from Sandbanks, Studlands, Poole and Bournemouth. We also took a boat from Swanage Pier to Poole, got to see Old Harry?s Rock and lots of activities on water. Durdle Door is a must but wear proper walking boots as the incline going up and down to Durdle Door is a bit of a killer on the legs/feet.

Given that Prince Harry made a request for the media to be respectful towards Meghan when they were dating and he voiced his upset at the prejudiced comments made towards her, I don?t think that photo was appropriate. I doubt they would find it amusing given the abuse she has endured from trolls due to her mixed heritage. Thankfully a lot people seems to be in agreement that the post was made in bad taste (judging by most of the comments when the photo was posted)so that in itself is reassuring.

As someone who is mixed, I found it quite offensive. Did he post photos of a monkey for the other royal births? If someone posted that photo to replicate the birth of my child, I would not be laughing. It just wasn?t funny. I call my child a cheeky monkey so it?s nothing to do with not ever being able to use the word monkey. It?s a case of who is saying it and in what context. A stranger who doesn?t know me and who is white calling me a monkey, is different to say my mum calling me a cheeky monkey. The whole going to the zoo to see monkeys line is just silly and not relevant nor the songs as my friends and I used to sing each other the monkey birthday song. The issue is, he chose an online platform to post a stupid photo that could be seen as quite prejudiced to a mixed couple. He isn?t a personal friend or a relative. As someone who is in the public eye, he needs to be a bit more considerate.
