I am further grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrd with a particular "chain" restaurant for neglecting to follow the law. Firstly I was dragged, wot felt like, half way across the world at a ridiculously early hour the other day to grab my personal licence as a particular building was found to be operating without a DPS or even a personal licence holder on the premises. Out of the kindness of my heart I offered to temporarily be named the DPS until a long term person is found. Now this may not sound too bad but I was happy doing "stuff" before all this happened and it kinda put a dampner on the whole thing. AND as mentioned I had to be travelling at a ridiculously early hour to meet an application deadline. On VERY little sleep I was not a happy bunny. Further to this, it has now been highlighted that none of the Managers on the site are PLHs and have very little knowledge about what one really is... the sale of alcohol is put on hold until they can locate someone... I don't mind so much offering to stand in temporarily but I don't get extra pay or perks for the additional responsibilty. I would also expect the offending company to know what they are doing. I am completely amazed that a large, experienced food/restaurant company can operate in a fashion where they place managers in locations without proper qualifactions and such. Also, makes me think where else this problem is in operation!!!! (6)
