Pavement widening outside M&S nr East Dulwich station...
KalamityKel replied to EDmummy101's topic in Roads & Transport
"Carnage"? Has there been a death?! 😶 Isn't the work meant to be to do with the "streets for people" project? https://services.southwark.gov.uk/transport-and-roads/improving-our-streets/live-projects/street-improvements/east-dulwich-streets-for-people -
South Circular roadworks - excessive disruption
KalamityKel replied to Penguin68's topic in Roads & Transport
Erm actually, they've been doing a fair bit more than that tiny patch. They're incredibly tidy and fill things back in once done and take the temp lights out often. Lots of preparation, from my daily observance (no I'm not a nosy neighbour, the walk past that stretch is part of my daily commute), has been done especially with wiring. One of the crossings, already in place (not in use), does take a bit of looking at to process how it will work with the flow of traffic and timings... Considering the heavy use of the junction, I think the work being done is not too bad. The traffic does move, unlike when the numerous pipes from the library and right through/past Forest Hill burst. It's worth keeping in mind, the Thames Water Works at the Library are not helping with congestion. The timing of these two projects are really the bug bear. -
Melbourne Grove South CPZ consultation
KalamityKel replied to first mate's topic in Roads & Transport
I'd also be interested to know how they validate responses. The form, whether online or paper, doesn't have any reference to residential address so any one could fill it in. Even someone from a totally different part of the world! @fredricketts with your experience over time with the council, is this something that can be pursued with some vigour? -
Shhh! Don't give away our secrets! 🥸

Doesn't ID piggy back off of Three?

An incredibly naive response which continues to completely miss the point. WHY should you have to go anywhere else? TJ should be up to standards just like everywhere else. Sure, leave somewhere that does offer good services, once you can get in, to join yet another shoddy surgery to be sent back to TJ for an appointment. Good thinking!

Instead of trying, yet again, to control a thread, let others weigh with their own experiences! Yes yes we know there are already numerous threads of a similar nature. Not everyone ventures in to the Roads & Transport section (as this has now landed).

Noticeboard on Northcross Road
KalamityKel replied to Jellybeanz's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
If I was wanting to volunteer then I would say. I don't want to and so haven't said. The simple point, to avoid any misinterpretation, was really instead of moaning, those that really care could be doing something about it. As you say, the "community" is all of us. -
Noticeboard on Northcross Road
KalamityKel replied to Jellybeanz's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Just putting this out there... Why does it have to be something controlled by (and paid for by) the council? If it's intended for the community and really needed (questionable) then why can't or shouldn't the community step up and run it/keep it tidy? -

Does vegan hot chocolate ever taste good? 🤭 -
OMG not the Anchovy fillets!!! 😱

No excuse for your choice of words though. No, dont be tempted to reply in the same manner you have already done so with others. And yes, I would say the same to your face!
-
Its the turning around into friern road that has caused the problem. The other buses dont use that road. Both routes are indeed back enroute

Traffic around Forest hill and Honor oak
KalamityKel replied to mattoutofhell's topic in Roads & Transport
To be sure you can expect (from experience) further disruptions to come as the domino effect starts with leaks in nearby sections. The patch it up and forget about it approach is always fun! -
Ah! That would explain the absence of the route at the Library last night... It's connected to the water leak/road works on Frien Road as per this post - "water leak frien road" Also: FRIERN ROAD, DULWICH: Route 12 is starting and ending journeys at Peckham Rye, Nigel Road due to an unsafe road surface. Towards Dulwich Library, there is NO SERVICE from Peckham Rye, Nigel Road to Dulwich Library. Towards Oxford Circus, there is NO SERVICE from Barry Road/Etherow Street to Peckham Rye/East Dulwich Road. Use route 197 between Peckham Rye and Dulwich Library.

Sue, are you able to upload this guide to here? -
Cameras intruding on the street & neighbours house
KalamityKel replied to sweetgirl's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Assuming you've already done this but, would it not be more productive to ascertain what is actually being recorded? Have a chat with the concerned parties and see if you can have a look at the angles actually being captured. We have a camera but the angle isn't invasive to neighbours nor surrounding business activity so... go check it out! -
Shhh we're not allowed to mention them! 😶

Not sure why you always have to come across as the guardian at the gates of the forum malumbu. People post what they think is relevant to the area. Whether it's about dog poo, best schools, lost single gloves, crime etc it's all relevant. It's not for you to control what is and isn't posted by others. Also, FYI it was a stabbing in Walworth not a shooting but I assume you already knew that.

But there is no mention of a charge for the maximum 2 hours... I'm confuzzled!
-
What statistic is this assumption based on?

"erase"? oh come now, that's quite over dramatic! War is terrible regardless of where and how and certainly shouldn't be ignored - which is the point right? *waits for a barrage of rudeness as is typical these days on this forum
