  1. Wrong, clearly. If anything the opposite is true.
  2. He is technically correct on the meaning the word "mincing" though. It's an adjective that can be used to describe anyone regardless of their persuasion. As you were....
  3. Fazer's worst nightmare = dinner with Kevin McCleod. At Rocca.

I remember being at one of the "old" drinks, having a really good chat with someone before they asked who I was on the forum. When I explained, their smile kind of faded and their face soured. The conversation died and they made their excuses and left..... I think that says it all.
  5. Weird...post jump there. I have Sweden England at 2-1 to Sweden at 9's

So...England Sweden. It's going to be a 1-1 draw right?

Prepare for Polish spirits to be damper than a brick layers overalls (in mid June, SE22) as the Russians get another convincing win tonight. I have a fiver on 3-0 to Russia.

I thought England played in a very English way last night. Both decent goals though. And I liked the Kid. Oxbridge- chambertin or whatever - more from that chap please!

Irelands game has that dogged feel to it that you get with a lot of Scotland games. Some lucky goals but the Croatians were the classier side. I can see the Irish getting a draw with Italy or Spain - like the Scot's they can raise their game for the big boys. England tonight - a reminder that Scotland beat France twice (home and away) in the Euro 2008 qualifiers. If we can do it against the odds you'll find it a walk over right?

It's been done to death Parkdrive....and to a neutral, one knob head England player being left out in place of another knob head is just boring. I have 6 Polish builders to work with tomorrow and so lets hope the hosts get off to a good start tonight :)-D
  11. You're being a bit harsh there Jezza are you not? What about the time he did "We're all going on a Summer holiday " at Wimbledon in the rain? It ranks behind Bucks Fizz at the Edinburgh Playhouse (1982) as one of the best performances I've seen. Edit - check out how he mimes to make up for not having a band behind him. Genius.

Compared to those other royal gigs which are naff personified it could have been much worse. Perhaps more bass and a decent sound system needed but it was Buckingham palace.... srisky...The Stones will never do an establishment gig - don't be silly!

Doesn't really matter who England have at the back thoygh does it? I don't believe they are good enough to scrape past group stage with any convincing style. At the moment on a good day , with the wind behind them they're as good as perhaps Sweden. What's wound up the Celtic nations for years has been the sense of English (fame/media) entitlement to win major tournaments bordering on arrogance at times. "England expects"....a legacy of 1966, now half a century ago. The only glimmer of hope is the tiny spark of a reality check setting in - Roy Hodgson is low key . As soon as everyone stops expecting they might start doing alright again. Predictably it's the Irish for me - I always enjoy watching them.
  14. I thought long and hard (I lie..5 mins) to decide where in the UK to celebrate Jubilee weekend. Scotland. Spent today in sunshine on River North Esk fly fishing - not a soul for miles, fresh salmon in the river and kingfishers, woodpeckers and an otter. Blue skies and hit 18c here tonight. Just got back to find some rainy barge thing on telly, Gary Barlow and hysterical women draped in damp union jacks. It looked like my worst nightmare.
  15. The Hootenany has an amazing night on Fridays and Sat which is really Ska focussed but great atmosphere. I think they also won best live music pub award recently - they might be up for other bands outside of the Fri/Sat night thing. I also had a really good night at the Golden Lion in Sydenham a few months back at their blues club - but they put bands on.
  16. Unless there's something seriously wrong with you it's hard to be creepy if you're under the age of 30-ish. If on the other hand you are 47 and she's 23 it's very different. I had to remind myself that this week when I hired a 24 year old hot shot grad and we started talking about her about favourite bands. I stopped before getting too Ricky Gervais. Mr Ben (36 years old and still down with the kids) *snaps fingers Ali G style* Ahem.

I loved the Dutch in the World Cup until their cynical antics in the final. I'm with the Germans too. England are 4th favourites to win which I thought must have been a mistake.

It's not just men though - I've seen some shocking cracked heels, dry skin and bad nail jobs on otherwise nice looking ladies. Like, sort it out flip flop wearers.
  19. Message to Emily's. If you start doing a king rib supper you will obtain "legendary" status amongst all right thinking ex pat Scots.
  20. Gimme Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Does he do a king rib supper with salt and sauce? > If not, any ideas where I could get one? Ahhhh. Mechanically recovered pork (20%) with barbecue flavour and shaped into rib coated in a deep fried crispy batter. There is nothing better! You'll only find it up the road I'm afraid, the English just don't understand it for some reason.

  25. I'll answer my own question now that I've just heard from Sophia at Brixton's finest Scottish Ska pub, The Hootananny and she says they are definitely showing it. Come on the jambo's!
