  5. im with you on this one mockney the wind that shakes the barley did nothing for me just about watchable and entirely predictable the whole way through, maybe as sean has already mentioned the defences were up before the show started but how it won the palme d,or i,ll never know, its not even a patch on michael collins, which deals with the same subject matter in a far superior way. anyway enough of that,recent recommendations from the spade are flyboys-set in the skys above france in ww1 quite predictible but none the less very enjoyable with great biplane action sequences and days of glory, about a group north african soldiers fighting for france against the boche in ww2.
  6. if i had,nt have played hurling i,d be fracture free, but the beautiful game has been responsible for numerous fractures to fingers and metacarpals, 1 big toe, 1 ankle,1 humerus and a broken jaw(which i would,nt recommend to anyone,unless you like sucking tomato soup through a straw)and although technically not a fracture 1 dislocated shoulder which was probably more painful than the rest all put together.

  14. so far this morning i have managed to do a bit of surfing on the net, and polish off a packet of honey bbq kettlechips and a packet of jammy dodgers washed down with copious cups of barrys tea whilst watching flyboys on dvd. its a hard life.

  21. im with you on springers, gerry. imho the best drinkery and eatery in east dulwich, the fact thats its only around the corner from me has a little to do with that, but in the 15 years i,ve been going there it has never failed, best wine bins this side of the channel.
