  2. It was obvious that he wouldn't be polite to his host. He revels in being rude and aggressive. That's exactly why we shouldn't have extended an invite in the first place. He's (predictably) insulted his host and the country. I just hope he won't be invited again.
  3. Thanks for the update BrandNewGuy. It's really dispiriting to see the club treated in this way by the developer. Let's hope it can get resolved as quickly as possible.
  4. What are the chances of DHFC getting back into the Champion Hill ground again, anytime soon?
  5. All the wailing and gnashing of teeth from Brexiters is quiet breathtaking. They won the vote to leave the EU and it looks like that's what's going to happen. Still they're not happy. Are there any circumstances at all under which they would be placated I wonder?
  6. I hop that doesn't sound insensitive btw. I'm really sorry for what happened to your son, its unforgivable.
  7. Is it a good idea for kids to carry around an iPhone? Isn't this partly why school children are targeted in the first place?
  8. This is the East Dulwich Forum, so I'm guessing you'll get more peeps recommending ED. HOP is a good area though and has good transport. Maybe more scope for capital growth (if you're interested in that)? Obviously I'd say Ed is a better area though.
  9. The Tories have been trying to 'contain' their lunatic fringe since before John Major. It can't be sustained much longer, there has to be a split. It's just a case of how long they're going to keep writhing around in agony before the inevitable. I wish someone would speed things along and put them out of their misery.
  10. Nando's / KFC I can see, but McD's can do one.

  12. As a party of opposition, Labour have the luxury of being able to stay non-committal however. Some might argue that politically, it is the most sensible position for them. The Tory's however are in Government and tasked with implementing Brexit. They shouldn't (in theory) able to obfuscate in the same way. It's certainly less forgivable, even reckless.

That's not the principle though. It's more "the scenario, supported by the available information, with the least moving parts", or rather "one should select the solution with the fewest assumptions". In this case, the available evidence (limited as it is), suggests the likely involvement of the Russian government. All other scenarios require additional, unsupported assumptions (making them increasingly speculative).
  14. I think we should apply Occam's razor personally.
  15. Personally, I can't see the cabinet reaching any agreement tomorrow at their 'away day'. May is running out of road down which to kick the can.
  16. So those who think that the attack didn't happen with the approval or sanction of the Russian state - who do you think was behind the use of this high grade chemical weapon?
  17. It was a mistake letting the Leavers slope off after the vote. Boris should have replaced Cameron on the 'you broke it, you buy it' principle.
  18. We voted narrowly to leave the EU. May should have tried to bring both sides together early on by exiting the EU, but maintaining a close partnership.. something along the Norway lines. I think in the early days she could have made the argument for this position as a compromise between the two sides in an extremely close vote. now it's too late. The extremists in her party have dug in and hardened their positions. There is no scenario under which they will be happy. The Brexremists want no compromise, they want to burn the house down. I'm coming to the conclusion that she should call their bluff. Step aside and let the Boris / Mog contingent own it. The small bunch of ideologues on the right of the Tory party have been holding the country to ransom for years. Let them have their turn. The sooner we can suck the poison out, the sooner the country can rebuild itself.

Exactly this. I've heard a lot of conspiracy theory and suggestions that things 'don't add up'. The facts are that a Russian double agent was assassinated using a nerve agent - an incredibly reckless act because it is very difficult to contain such chemical weapons. The fact that several months later some innocent party has inadvertently come into contact with said nerve agent, underlines what the government said at the time - such an attack puts the general public at risk of contamination. This is what makes the attack all the more outrageous. It seems pretty likely that the Russian government sanctioned this attack. I don't buy any of the 'false flag' nonsense.
  20. I'm sure there is a saying about hot kitchens... If it's too hot...

I really hope we lose.
  22. ?25 for a new battery from Apple.
  23. Are there no trains from Forest Hill to East Croydon in the mornings now?
  24. I hate the 'boys will be boys', 'just a bit of a scrap' mentality. It causes so much damage to boys and to society generally. I think we often take violence far too lightly.
