  1. Enough said. Reported again to council. That bin needs to go.
  2. It has police tape on it saying "Do not attempt to move" As I say, it's been there a week, both the council and the police have known it's there for a week. I reported it last Thursday, so has another resident. My car was hit by this car. They just can't get their shit together to get it moved. 3. There has been an abandoned Seat Ibiza left dangerously in the middle of the junction of Hindmans and Tyrell road. It has been there since last Wednesday night, so one week and counting. The car was abandoned after an uninsured driver rear ended the back of my parked car, causing substantial damage. The female driver then reversed into another car that had stopped behind her, pulled forward and then reversed into a 3rd car parked on the other side of Tyrell rd. The police were informed last week as were the council. The fact that this car is still sat in the middle of the road says a lot about the state of our local services, both the police and the council. The response time has been beyond pathetic, and this car has remained in the middle of a junction causing a risk to other road users. If this car is familiar to anyone on here please contact me via PM thanks.
  4. Dulwichfox: Is that the sound of tumbleweed I can hear?
  5. Thanks for the replies. Yeah my thinking is also that they should be removed. Don't remember this happening before they were put in.
  6. Hi there Just wondering if anyone else is noticing and getting annoyed by the constant dumping of rubbish outside the Family Store on the corner of Upland and Hindmans Road? This is an almost daily occurrence now. My guess is that the clothes and Southwark recycling bins are encouraging people to dump their crap here, although obviously that is no excuse. I have brought this up several times with the corner shop owners and they don't really seem that interested. There is a CCTV camera there, but it does not discourage anyone. I have also emailed [email protected] today to try and get something done longer term. If anyone else has suggestions would be good to hear them. Is there a way of getting the bins removed?
  7. "Thanks for your email. I can confirm that it's fine to place your shopping in your own bag or trolley before purchasing your items. As long as of course you pay for your purchases at the checkout." Thank you. No further questions your honour. The jury shall retire for deliberation and to consider their verdict. See you all back here in 90 seconds.
  8. Busyrabbit - I sometimes put shopping directly into my bag if I'm only grabbing a few things before paying. I also sometimes put them in my crash helmet as others have mentioned here. I also (shock horror) eat a packet of crisps as I shop if I'm starving and then put the empty packet on the belt for the cashier to scan. Been doing it for years, never been challenged by a member of staff at any supermarket. I only wish I'd been challenged by you. Think the man in question was incredibly polite to just brush you off.
  9. Yeah, the one by the EDT. I've been in there and it did make me wince when I saw them. The tank is far too small.
  10. Bloodoranges beat me to it. Put this out on social media.
  11. The government and the water companies all need their feet held to the fire IMO. https://www.gre.ac.uk/about-us/news/articles/2017/privatised-water-failure The report shows that increases in our bills since privatisation are not due to increased investment but due to the water companies saddling themselves with debt in order to pay out dividends to shareholders. Welcome to the big neoliberal lie - that privatisation returns increased competition, efficiency and value for the customer. What's that sound you hear trickling down? Is it wealth? No, its another burst water main. "This report clearly shows that the high prices and high debts of the English water companies are not due to high investments. The companies could have funded all of their operations and investments from customer bills, without taking on any debt whatsoever. The ?47 billion of debt, and the interest we pay on it, is simply down to a systematic extraction of shareholder payouts far in excess of any available cash surplus. "This system is not sustainable and seriously disadvantages consumers. They have not been helped by a fog of misleading statements by both water companies and the regulator OFWAT. The report further strengthens the case for taking water back into public ownership with strong democratic oversight, as in most European countries."

That seems a bit of a pre-judgment! I walked past the aftermath yesterday and it looked like the driver was a man. (very happy to be corrected if you know otherwise)
  13. In the OED under Schadenfreude, they should just post that photo...
  14. Not only disengaged but also immature, sarcastic and trolling if the silly little GIFs and recent posts are anything to go by. What a strange way for an "action group" to conduct themselves on a public forum.
  15. This is nuts. Didn't realise this is in the pipe line at all for motorbikes. I have 2005 125cc Suzuki and will now have to sell it and replace it.
  16. I managed to lose a pair of aviator sunglasses on Saturday afternoon on either North Cross Road or on Goose Green. The frames are black and made by Converse, the lenses are prescription so pretty useless for anyone else. Reward offered thanks
  17. Some good options in Peckham - Springs, Levels or Social...
  18. The EDT and Great Ex
  19. I lost my grey scarf on Saturday, probably left or dropped on North Cross Rd or Lordship Lane. Any leads greatly appreciated. Thanks
  20. Well done Ron, glad you stopped them.
  21. Pretty much all of them do I think.
  22. Jimlad - so far we have established that you don't live in East Dulwich (but instead SE5), that you don't own a car, and that your road already has a CPZ. And yet you've spent the last few days lecturing everyone on this forum about how awesome they are and how we should all have them. Your obsession is borderline creepy, certainly a bit weird. You accuse others of hyperbole - and yet churn out gems like "Its nothing to do with parking in front of your house. Its everything to do with parking within half a mile of your house." Ok - show of hands on here: who in East Dulwich has encountered parking issues so bad that they haven't been able to park within half a mile of their house? Answers on a postcard to SE5 please. You claim to be an authority on what SE22 residents want because, anecdotally, you have spoken to some of us. Well you don't speak for me, and judging by the majority of responses on here you don't speak for the majority. Why don't you take your odd CPZ agenda and go and pester some other forums?
  23. Best of luck x
