  1. Short to medium term plan, Truss to screw up country, Labour to get in, make a mess eg infighting, squabbles with Scots, underwhelming leader, and Tories to come back even more right wing. Meanwhile big business, hedge funds etc to continue to benefit.
  2. There are 72 posts on this, maybe two thirds complaining. Have any of you done anything to address this perceived problem? My starting point would be to write to my MP. At least you would get the government's position, and it would make a nice change for them to think about something apart from wrecking the economy.
  3. Call the police next time. I expect this is criminal activity. Probably won't get a cop car rushing round but message would get across. In fact you need to inform them anyway so they are alerted. Can do it on line
  4. Pick your battles. Yes she us sseless but on this ocassion a petition will not change a thing. There's plenty more you can do.
  5. Summary: it would help your arguments if you made posts shorter. when I praised Rah Rah's post for being short I was not being sarcastic. I'd love to understand better the counter argument against LTNs but there is so much resentment here most posts just go into a stream of consciousness. Worse stll go on an anti-cycling rant. At least try to summarise your 'argument in the first line or two. I'm on a laptop with a decent screen so easier to read posts. When I am on my mobie I just lose the will to live/read
  6. I expect most of us sneering middle classes will use Spoons from time to time to time. The reason we detest Martin is his views, which he is too happy to share. He may be no different to other pub chain bosses in terms of political belief, but we'd struggle to name them. Not sure whether he has got the Brexit he wanted, but it appears to have done more harm than good to his business interests.
  7. Good to see some positive views Rah Rah and better still a short posting.
  8. We used to throw bangers at each other when kids. Not right but it happens....
  9. Can't recall any former PM being shot in the last few hundred years. He's made enemies but generally not the ones that would shoot him. I even expect that those naughty Ruskies have bigger targets to poison.
  10. We've also got Truss and Kwarteng just down the road in far East Dulwich (aka Greenwich).
  11. Well under Johnson and previous governments we did have some long term plans; improving air quality, moving to zero carbon, and increasing biodiversity. Sometimes they lacked substance and/or funding, but at least they were there Expect us to go backwards on all these in favour of foreign businesses queueing up in anticipation of scrapping regulations and rewarding greed, greater consumerism, fossil fuel extraction and removing checks and balances on planning

Ditto, although a medium one and early results promising
  13. It's complex, confusing, and controversial I expect few of us are experts but at least this thread helps become a little better informed
  14. Emoji of bleeding heart
  15. https://www.nhs.uk/services/gp-surgery/forest-hill-group-practice/G85001/ratings-and-reviews A good place to share good and bad experience I suppose the OP was to ask for recommendations for other practices rather than slag off FHGP
  16. It's a bit clunky and lengthy, and you can only complete it in surgery hours, but I find the econsult system has improved things greatly. I've built up a good relationship with one of the GPs who I have yet to meet in person. I expect most surgeries have issues. I don't know why so many receptionists are so grumpy over the years I've been there, I expect quite stressful/busy, rather than a culture. It's a shame that many just resort to social media to complain rather than go straight to the practice.
  17. Feels like my thoughts on Blankety Blank. Not sure why they resurrected it, but no more trailers please
  18. Have you met any transgender people. Do you feel the same about homosexuality? If so you may'find italy or Hungary good countries to live in. Apols if I have misinterpreted your views,. I'll let you explain further.
  19. They sell a fair amount of ale though at such cheap prices so it will attract a certain demographic. Not sure how they can charge so much less than other pub chains, which will also have economies of scale. A limited Google got me no comprehensive answer
  20. It's capitalism. The UK has long since got rid of price controls. Even Martin's cut price model, bulk buying, for beer close by sell by date, doesn't always work. The Capitol is unprofitable and has been up for sale on and off for ages. It was hoped it would be used for an arts centre. Lewisham held out 30 years ago against Wetherspoons for the same reason was it was an abdoned bingo hall. In its heyday as a cinema it was immensely popular helped by its good public transport.

Not of this government. Sarah Vine. So I understand.
  22. Surely the craziest PM we have had in the lifetime of this forum. Makes that last one seem quite benign. Feel free to say otherwise

Seriously planning to get a cheap one. On line reviews are excellent. Most criticism is for lack of recipes with the product, the off product failure and some people buying ones that are too small. Ok not personal experience but at £50 for a cheapie lets see
  24. More importantly Rocks is that Occamracer couldn't find Gail's. I can't afford croissant and coffee in the village, hopefully you can help 🙂
  25. Below the belt Rocks, I thought better of you ..... I thought I was being polite and a little self-deprecating. I expect you will be setting up border checks
