  2. Just a Thank you to James for helping get the months old builder's rubbish cleared from the road and also the hire car that's not moved for at least 6 months on Worlingham Rd
  3. 2 house keys on fob found near GG roundabout 6.30 this morning. Send pm and short description of fob
  4. Radiator centre in Northcote Rd.? Or the shop in Bellenden Rd?
  5. William Hill's shop by Superdrug has got a closing down sign in it's window.
  6. I enjoyed the old waiting room at Peckham Rye. And St John's had an interesting display of it's history.
  7. Yes.intexasatthemoment, I usually catch the 37, but the 12 sailed up, stopped (somewhat to my surprise) and I didn't want to hurt it's feelings by ignoring it.
  8. quite handy yesterday to catch the no.12 to Peckham at GG. Went to the Open House at Peckham Station. Fascinating.
  9. All the streets near the roundabout will get even worse as the cars who normally park for the station in the new controlled areas will be looking for spaces.
  10. Hi What are the regs about builders/householders leaving large bags/building materials etc in the road by the pavement? Parking is bad enough. For example, there are two large builders bags full of rubble that have been in Worlingham Rd for months now and it appears the building work finished some time ago. Also hire cars. There's one unmoved since April.
  11. Wasn't Rat Scabies a 70s punk band?
  12. At a public meeting years ago the dog owners blamed foxes
  13. The new library in Grove Vale
  14. It's a puzzle how "Inspector Montalbano" manages to be very watchable while being utter rubbish (unlike "Wild Bill"). Formulaic, illogical, completely unbelievable. Yet enjoyable. And the books are obviously losing everything in their translations as they are even worse.
  15. There was some info. about the local council not empowered to fence part of it off, (thus wasting lots of money on railings,) as permission was needed from central gov. I may be wrong, but I think that's what we were told at the time. It was great while it lasted. People were actually sitting on the grass.
  16. It's always been bad. I've got a very small garden, like many of the local houses, and I would have loved my children to be able to play on GG when they were younger. But not when it was just a dog's toilet.

Good bus services to Poole, Wareham, Bournemouth (Via ferry)
  18. Buses on diversion on Camberwell New Rd towards Vauxhall. Traffic gridlocked. Possibly an accident with a cyclist.
  19. Don't get me started on the new arrangement. Took hours of my and staff time because the staff didn't really know how to sort out my problem on the new system .
  20. Does exaggerated mean made up? I can assure you they're not.
  21. Perhaps I'm unusually intolerant of screaming, banging on the glass in the aquarium and grabbing at the butterflies. But last time I went to look at the beautiful display of musical instrument and listen to the recordings, there were children running up and down, thumping on the musical tables and then a couple on mothers sat on the tables to eat their lunch. Meanwhile a friend in the butterfly house said the children were trying to catch the butterflies in their hands while the staff just stood and watched. If they want to increase the diversity of visitors they might remember that not everyone has a child with them. Alternatively, drop the word Museum from the title and just be honest and call it Horniman Play Centre.
  22. Just had a quick look and it certainly appears there'll be a lot of building work and a loss of garden space. The museum is already no-go area for adults and with the proposed Kinder area, the park will be a children's playground to match.
  23. I think most will accept sheets and duvet covers, but not duvets or pillows.
  24. Thanks, DulwichFox. I didn't press anything, of course, and like you, I get numerous calls a bit like this. But it's the first time I've been threatened with arrest, which could seriously frighten a vulnerable person
