  1. Calling Busy Rabbit a troll, is,perhaps, tending towards a pot/black situation
  2. I would assume that if I saw someone putting items directly into their own bag, that they were shoplifting.
  3. My mother stayed in the same home even when her saving and house sale money had run out.
  4. I've never actually timed every one of my searches for a parking space, but I think a 20 minutes search sounds reasonable. I know I've spent 15 minutes looking time and time again. Get stuck behind a delivery lorry or a refuse cart and it can be 10 minutes getting out of your own street.
  5. I will join worldwiser with the tea and biscuits. I might even stretch to cake
  6. No butter. Honestly, where were people brought up. Or toast. No, fried in the runny bacon fat till the bread is slightly crisp.
  7. Yes, redjam, you can borrow and return at any of the Southwark libraries.
  8. Just visited for the first time. Very nice, with new books! It seems a long time since Dulwich library had any real money spent on stock.
  9. It's always been a pity that children can't pay on Goose Green because of the dogs and the poo. Most gardens here are small and some space to run about on would be welcomed. My son was chased by two dogs once and the owners told me it was his fault for running away.
  10. It makes me think that if there's going to be very prominent public art, we the community who have to look at it all the time, should have some say in the choice.
  11. I think it's horrible and would be glad if it went for any reason
  12. Just watched a woman with a husky type dog drop her dog s..t in someone else's bin in Worlingham Rd. Nice.
  13. I think anyone would mind parties at 3.00am.(if it wasn't theirs) They had another for NYE. Bottles and glasses all around nest morning. I grant you no-one wants persistent noise of any sort.
  14. Yes, I've never heard of an e-mail from RM. A new thing?
  15. East Dulwich. And it's easier to say go and talk to them, than to get up on a December night, get dressed , go out, and face who knows what when you knock on the door.
  16. Anyone else kept awake last night? My feelings of goodwill to all men were a bit low when it was still blasting out at 3.00am
  17. Got a sackful yesterday, about 4.00pm One post already this morning, the largest card had been opened.
  18. New shop selling handmade hone wares on Grove Vale?
  19. Either no-one's sending us any cards this Christmas, or something is very wrong with the delivery.
  20. Singalto is right, our cat moved off when we had a baby. We sometimes saw her around, looking fine and well-fed.
  21. We have a neighbour with one. It saves us having to turn our landing or bathroom light on at night.
  22. I can now say that Miles is the exception. Prompt, polite, punctual. Makes you feel like keeping him secret in case he gets too busy for next time.
  23. I've even had people doing the work and then never sending a bill
  24. Do I hold outdated values, or is it normal for tradesmen not to bother to return calls? I've wasted some time leaving messages with several companies, then giving them a couple of days to respond, but waiting in vain. OK, it's a little job but a call saying "sorry we're busy," would seem to be polite. What's the point of them spending money on advertising if they don't reply to a question? And self interest might suggest to them that I'm unlikely to ever use them if I want a big job done, or to recommend them to anyone else. As this Forum proves, word of mouth is a valuable asset. Finally got someone coming tomorrow, and if all is well, I shall broadcast his praises here.
