I went to the Crystal Rd practice at 8.00 this morning only to be told that they didn't accept face to face bookings, I had to ring. No-one had ever mentioned this to me before on either of my attempts to get an appointment. So I stood there and she reluctantly booked me a telephone appointment. This info. must have come as a surprise to the people queuing up behind me too. no wonder one has to sit so long at the phone if that's the only way you can get seen.

I can only repeat that you're lucky, Dimelda. I was at the Crystal Palce Rd practice yesterday afternoon and was told there were no doctors there to interpret the letter they'd received from Kings following my tests. I couldn't make an appointment there and then (why not?. Tried at 8.00 this morning but was told I could only book for today, which since I had an all day appointment elsewhere I couldn't attend. So it's back to the queue tomorrow morning. So don't bother moving, ctovey.

I've just been to my GP practice and have to either ring or go there at 800 tomorrow to get an appointment. Anyone who can go and get an appointment just by walking is very lucky! Completely ridiculous

No trains running to ED through Beckenham junction from now on except for at rush hours, I was told yesterday afternoon which seems a very inconvenient move

Most charity shops will sell on "unsaleable" books by weight to specialist dealers. St C's certainly does. So take them there. And you might be surprised what has value. I've just sold an old paperback for ?130.00

I was amazed at how soon they arrived to look at the problem when last week's torrential rain caused a leak in out ceiling - within hours!. They then came to fix the problem very promptly today and did the work very quickly too. Can highly recommend them

Sounds like a cynical attempt by Southwark to pretend it hasn't ruined the businesses in the area. ED just isn't big enough to support two street markets. If they open one, there'll be a few takers at first, then it'll tail off and Southwark can pretend it was really really trying to help.

It's the first time for a while that I have had to drive up ED Grove on Friday evening and the traffic was so bad I thought there'd been an accident or roadworks. It was continuous from LL down to the junction of the village. If this is the council's idea of healthy roads, especially round two big schools, then I wonder what their idea of traffic pollution is like.
