I'm amazed that a body such as DVLA can sell your details. But I'm guessing their allowed to as it's a bit like councils selling electoral roll data. The dodgiest post I have ever received as been as a result of this so it's not like they're even discriminating in who they sell to. Now my boyfriend recently made a right turn where he shouldn't have whilst driving my car (I was in the car too and would have made the same error). In the PCN I received, I could only claim that I wasn't responsible as I wasn't driving if my car had been stolen. Now that seemed strange...I might lend my car to someone but can I really be held responsible for their driving? As for winning a car, why not? It may not be innovative but it's obviously meant to encourage people to renew road tax the most convenient way for them.
