  1. And erm, yes, I saw that. I got quite a crick in the neck... :)
  2. Filthy Gorgeous - Scissor Sisters
  3. Bond advertising...ok, I get it, there's a new film out soon. Not being able to remember when I last caught a train that turned up on time at ED station. (although I've become so inured to this that it actually doesn't really annoy me anymore...)
  4. Or is Sean referring to the history of Bonfire Night?
  5. But damn it, I don't live in West London any more! And when I did, I was never short of somewhere to go shopping. Now over here in the south east...and don't tell me to go to Bromley!
  6. Personally I'd make a cauliflower cheese. But fry up the bacon first and add that in too. Not sure how to incorporate the carrots and feta cheese...maybe have the carrots on the side?
  7. Mine's an imaginary country where I am the Queen.
  8. Oooh, thanks for the recommendations Jeremy, I've not seen any of those... By the way, have you seen Elling? That's another good Norwegian one.
  9. OK Jeremy, I don't know what sort of thing you do like...but here's a few films I've enjoyed on DVD recently, maybe there's some you haven't seen: Little Fish - Australian about a recovering drug addict Princess & The Warrior - German film, gets very surreal at the end Diving Bell and the Butterfly - French, based on a true story Sophie Scholl - German about students in Nazi Germany Beat That My Heart Skipped - French with the guy that played Moliere Devil's Backbone - Spanish horror type film Run, Lola, Run - German and difficult to describe Black Cat, White Cat - Yugoslavian and good fun
  10. In the past few weeks the free Metros seem to run out far earlier (yes, yes, I know it's the Metro and full of rubbish journalism but I want one). So I'm always grateful for copies left on trains.
  11. Didn't the BBC do something a while ago that painted Poles in a bad light? Maybe this was to redress the balance.
  12. No problem. Just spotted that the emails you get sent have a link in them to stop following the thread. Click on that and all the above gets done for you automatically.
  13. Ah-ha. Just worked this out yesterday... Go to My Control Center. Then on the left hand side, go to Show Followed Threads. Then you can either delete the followed threads or update it not to email you and Save Changes.
  14. However, I might be prepared to give up the day job in exchange for lots of money for doing nothing and the ability to walk in killer heels...
  15. Yes she's made quite a bit of money...but what is she successful for?
  16. The guy who keeps borrowing my PC (because it has 2 screens) for "5 minutes" and then locking me out of it all day. Tomorrow Assertive Izodia says NO.
  17. I used to work in Raynes Park. A couple of years ago there, the council removed all the zebra crossings to replace them with traffic lights in the name of pedestrian safety. So I think zebras are seen as less safe...in practice though I think most people get so bored of waiting for the lights to change that they just cross anyway.
  18. But surely the Eastern Europeans working cheaply here are living here too...so they have to pay UK expenses too and still manage to send money home. Tony, to go back to something you said earlier...if not being able to get a council house meant you went and got a mortgage instead then surely you didn't really need the council house in the first place? I can't get my own mortgage but being in a reasonably paid full-time job, I don't deserve council accommodation.

But if you setup a laptop by the side of your bed...that way you can watch proper TV online in an even more horizontal state than on the sofa... (this is only an occasional treat though as am pretty anti having televisions in bedrooms)
  20. So what's the secret to getting lucky with buying tickets? I'd like to see the Killers but every time I've ever tried I spend 1/2hr with phone in one hand calling continually to get "Sorry all our lines are busy, call later" and other hand taping away online whilst getting endless "Server too busy" messages. Finally I'll get through...how come? Because it's sold out. Grrr.
  21. Actually I've always imagined him looking a little like Woody from Toy Story...there's definitely something about the name that has a cowboy feel. (Sorry folks, you'll have to search for your own picture)
