  2. I suspect RB sources his material from the opinions, thoughts and beliefs of others, cherry-picking and indulging in plagiarism. Personally I do not have much time for the man and frankly he gets up my nose, His 2nd hand views are pertinent, and need however obnoxious, a character to appeal to an audience that would have not been otherwise exposed to the ideology and and facts that surround the multitude of "HIS" concerns. I rather enjoyed when the large man in the audience berated him on his lack of gumption to stand for election! His weak response was par for the course and exposed his lack of contents in both his thought processes and contents of his man sacks!!
  3. Pretty soon A lot more people will be turning to veggies, As the demand for meat increases from the developing nations, so the price will rise, Argentinians will finally be able to afford eat their corned beef! Whereas before only the wealthy west could afford it. With the rise in cost, so the realization might dawn on the uninformed that their consumption is unsustainable, Ask yourself, How much water is need per kilo of meat?, how much feed is used from the birth of the beast to it's untimely end? Answers! Bovine meat = 15,514 liters per kilo vs vegetables 322. " " = 16 kilos of feed = 1 kilo of meat. Food For Thought "It takes at least six times the amount of land to feed a meat eater than to feed a vegetarian. In the UK just 2% of the population is vegetarian, but although none of us really need to eat meat every day, most people simply aren?t prepared to give it up altogether. Having one or two meatless days a week is an easy way to make a difference, and changing to a diet containing more beans, nuts, fruit and vegetables can also improve your health and lower the risk of heart disease, diabetes and some cancers". "16 kilos of grain is needed to produce one kilo of beef. The huge quantities used for animal feeds means that the remaining supplies of grain become too expensive for the people who depend on it to survive. About 1.2 billion people in the world suffer from hunger, while another 1.2 billion are obese".
  4. I have been a vegetarian for 35 years, even as a kid I was always questioning my mother what I was eating, and when told Pig or Cow I really didn't get on with the idea of putting a dead animal inside my body! As far as "Meat Substitutes" go, either Quorn or Soya based, the point is Protein and Texture! Try the Sainsburys meatless meatballs, Lovely stuff! Vegetarianism is down to personal choice there are no rules on what constitutes a real or pretend veggie, I am labelled as a "Ova Pesca vegetarian" Meaning I still eat (oily) Fish and eggs. I have no problems with nutrition nor health, If anything, being veggie opens up your imagination and encourages one to explore alternatives and aids to your creativity in the kitchen, If you are used slapping a chunk of meat, spuds and a few greens on a plate, try taking off the animal and then think about how to complete the meal!! Quon bacon is smoked cardboard! Yuk!, but most of the others are great, It's not pretending to be anything other than what it is...........A replacement or stand-in for something that achieves a similar result or purpose.

    Plusnet

Foxy! Simple for those who have some idea and are interested enough to fiddle around with the settings, most however never go further than the basics! But I concede it is a simple enough task, once you know how to get to the routers settings, Even this you'll need to know your routers IP address. Sue! Here are the links and how to's, http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/hardware/broadband-connection-settings.shtml http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/hardware/technicolor-582n-advanced.shtml

Loz! Nice explanation! Do not think think that you are complicating things at all, Foxy's post left me having to google an answer!! I sort of knew how the IP's worked as I have a blackberry playbook that I can access via the run command/IP address and have it appear in windows/file explorer! Poor sue! she only wanted to see if there were anyone else experiencing the same issues she had!! But great to see there are some active techies out there willing to input on this forum!

    Plusnet

Hi Sue, I too have had plusnet connectivity issues of late, It seems to be an issue at their end rather than your router, If you cannot get the internet light to stay green, try restarting the router, unplug it for at least 10 seconds and restart it. If it's a wi-fi issue do as nashoi suggests or use this tool https://www.acrylicwifi.com/en/wlan-software/wlan-scanner-acrylic-wifi-free/ If you have slow loading of web pages, then this is down to a few easy to resolve fixes, 1st look at your browsers settings, most will allow you to clear the cookie cache everytime you close the browser, and dig a little deeper to create a list of sites to be kept for frequently used sites. (white list). Lastly all browsers use a directory to fetch the page your are "dialing" Domain Name System, These servers are allocated usually by your ISP (plusnet in your case) there are many providers and some get busy, a simple tool can find the fasted and allow you to change yours, I use google US and it's so much quicker than the one provided, here is a link to a simple tool, it does not install so you have to open the folder and click on the .exe file to run it. http://www.sordum.org/7952/dns-jumper-v1-0-6/ Once all of this is done you'll get the best possible from your set up, remember a wired connection is always going to be faster than wi-fi. hope this helps anyone who get frustrated with slow acting pc's!! 8. I agree with you entirely Pete, I too am all 3 and a white van man to boot!!
  9. Whilst we are the subject of road safety, I think that the cycling proficiency test should be reintroduced and mandatory for all. I won't bother going into all of the crass examples I see displayed daily by our two wheeled combatants of our public highways.......
  10. "The advertising industry's prime task is to ensure that uninformed consumers make irrational choices, thus undermining market theories that are based on just the opposite.? ― Noam Chomsky
  11. Using vitamins in tablet form is a bit of a waste of money, you'll be far better off sourcing the vitamins from the food you eat, change your diet if you're lacking anything.....
  12. I have had the unfortunate pleasure of living under the management of this shower of idiots for the past 40 years, they are a law unto themselves, I remember back in the 70's when the toll gate raised it's charges from a reasonable ?0.0s 6d to an outrageous 50p, the estate promised that once the revenue reached a million they would invest it in reconstructing collage road, what they actually did was to tarmac over the shingle surface with the minimal amount of groundworks leaving it as bumpy and dangerous as it ever was! I used to live in one of their tower blocks on Farquhar rd, 60% of residents applied for double glazing and were refused on the grounds that they would not be befitting to the area leaving everybody with ill fitting crittall windows. I now live on Fountain drive the top end extension of collage rd we too are denied double glazing, I am entitled to a 50% discount on the gate but choose to drive around the long way rather than add to the coffers to these arseholes
  13. To me it's backward thinking to replicate an earlier version of windows, why not simply spend a little time researching and exploring the new one? Want a start menu? right click the taskbar choose new toolbar, in the dialogue box copy and paste this location C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs Job done!! https://www.facebook.com/537539619605805/photos/a.611992192160547.151204.537539619605805/628324167194016/?type=1&relevant_count=1

  17. Hello Mr Fox, I too had a Lumia 800, mine did the same thing, I solved it by never turning it off! Factory reset will clear the board, back it up via Zune. But the glitch is in-built and will return. Wait to the end of contract and go for a phone that runs 8.1 Great improvements have been achieved I went for the Lumia 1020, primarily for the camera and is soon to be discontinued

  19. Java is the script you are having trouble with, With whatever browser you are using it should have a "tools" section. find the security bit, trusted sites and allow Java. R/C
  20. Break down your requirements into component parts, Internet TV will facilitate your streaming. Wi-Fi is problematical, Better to use your house's electric wiring to bring the net to the room you want. Do you have fibre optical wiring in your street? If so sign up for that as you'll have access to faster broadband. As for hanging a bracket to a wall....come on man...Easy Job for yourself!! http://www.ebuyer.com/store/Networking/cat/Network-Devices?q=homeplug
  21. I would stick with the bucket and mop if I was you!, System restore only affects programs and system files, Not Data!!
  22. Hey! Lots more Info and links to free software, Tips and advice for Windows....Have a look!
  23. I would do a system restore on the pc, roll it back to a date before you installed itunes, personally I do not trust mac software writers as it's in their interest to get you move away from PC and onto Mac, It always seems to want to screw with the file permissions and install all manner of crap along with the player. If you post up your O/S I'll tell you how to restore your system.... Good luck!
  24. Rather than resort to these daft measures simply download a tool called Kill Disk, it will overwrite all of the disc with xxx's and ooo's rendering the files unrecoverable, this disk is used by government agencies. http://www.killdisk.com/downloadfree.htm This way you still have a useable hard disc.
