  1. Have you tried testing your Ram? You can use the built in memory diagnostics tool or mentest86. You say it is pointing towards a driver problem, therefore it will show the offending driver with a yellow flag, even if it's a hidden device or indeed unknown it will expose the culprit (click on show hidden devices in the view tab). Also you can open system information and under the components tab there is a problem device list. Use command prompt with admin to run chkdsk /r this command will check and repair rather than just check. As for the minidump you can use a blue screen viewer, that will show you the contents but unless you understand strings, paths and app data and such it will not help you much, the information is not much different than what is listed in the event viewer. Right clicked http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html Blue screen viewer An Afterthought The ram might have loosened off or not making good contact. try reseating One stick and boot, then swap the other and try that.
  2. Hello, Try these steps, Boot into safe mode and go to device manager (via control panel) and look for any yellow flags. If you have a driver missing or broken you'll have to search for a download. Stop errors are often caused by a driver issue. If it's not that then open up command prompt with admin rights. type in SFC /scannow (note the gap between SFC and /) This is a file checker and will attempt a repair. You can also open up the event viewer and under admin check for the error that caused the BSOD. (You can choose safe mode with networking if you need to go online) Right-clicking
  3. Rather than borrow ebooks from the library, why not read the growing amount of free books available? Most ereaders/tablets will handle the epub format (or need a tool to enable) A lot of readers support PDF. Check out the two links below. http://www.gutenberg.org/ This site is strong on the classics and out of print books.# http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/free-epub-books-online.htm This site has links to 77 more sites to search. I have just found that on the project gutenberg site there is a dvd download of 28,000 books available !!! http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Gutenberg:The_CD_and_DVD_Project
  4. Hello Hostels in the city are really good, dorm if you are on a really tight budget or single/twin rooms if you have a few more Euro's to spare. http://www.hostelbookers.com/
  5. Bah and Humbug!! Buy an Apple product and you are buying into a closed eco-system. Compatibility with any non-apple products, hardware or software will prove to be a major headache (install itunes on a PC and see the mess). Sure they look good and are of great quality, robust and reliable. But cost a fortune! Apple have built in restraints to prevent home upgrades, the internals are nothing special and again restricted at OS/X level, force you into upgrading early on in the machines life, To gain any rewards from using any of their products hassle free you end up buying them all! Disgusting company IMHO who in their right mind likes spending a monkey to buy a dog?
  6. Ruffler, Sorry I have never tried using it for your needs, but as its an extension to the chrome browser its easy enough to give it a whirl and try it.
  7. I have dumped reader from google ahead of the cut off, I now use the one linked below, it will draw all of your subscriptions over as well. A lot of other readers will also be affected as they might use the google API for their feeds and this will be withdrawn. Feedly is also available as a app for android http://www.feedly.com/
  8. Council estate from the 1960's some properties have been sold and letting out at 2 to 3 times of the council rent. Bits of it are ok'ish but I would not really recommend the place. Streetview it via google maps
  9. Hello Mr Fox, I think you'll need to enter the registry and adjust the file associations. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\Photoshop.exe\shell\open\command, and change the (Default) from "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe" "%1" to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe" "%1" Not for the faint hearted! R/C

  13. Less than 1/3rd of tax raised comes from income tax, most of the tax liability falls on those in the ?20-100,000 bracket. By giving that ?0.05p back per pound earned equates to ?40,000 (per million) if this not paying the rich then what is it? By having one's income cut without any way of recourse is tantamount to theft.
  14. I do not think it's a question of hating hard earned wealthy rich bitches, whom through enterprise and venture produced a profit. Her taxes are her contribution in the redistribution process, had she paid less than minimum wage or cash in hand, not declared her profit or off loaded it to a tax haven then we might be more justified in using the derogatory label. Governments are ultimately responsible as to where the tax money is spent and this current mob will happily rob the poor to pay the rich. ( benefits cut, high earners tax break)
  15. Guilty before proven innocent is the councils way of extorting revenue for it's coffers, These enforcement cameras are nothing more than cash generators and do little to ease traffic flow or address parking issues, Fight it all the way!! Had there been a parking warden then it would have been down to his discretion, maybe he/she would have advised you going around the block?
  16. This turned out to be a bit of an eye opener. http://www.bbc.co.uk/i/b01rsy3t/Lord Saatchi - UK Conservative Party Chairman 2003 - 2005

  18. KidKruger How familiar are you with the command prompt? Vista & 7 type CMD in the search bar. right click on the utility run as admin, type in chkdsk /r this will run a disk check and repair on reboot. also in command prompt type in sfc /scannow this runs a system file check and replaces missing or corrupt files. Note the space between the 1st group of letters and the forward slash. This might resolve the issue Pearsonville It's ok to have as many a/v scanners installed but only one should be active. 19. Last word! Another thing you can do is to type in msconfig into the search bar and click on the utility, go to the start up section and uncheck all unnecessary items/programs, this will not only enable faster boot times but stop the processes running in the background. Right-clicking
  20. If as you say you are only browsing the net with it, then it might pay you to investigate your browser settings! Try using Google chrome, dig into the settings and enable clear history and cache when you close the browser, Keep as few tabs open as needed, disable any extentions, Do not use the default DNS sever, reconfigure it with this easy to use and free tool. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Other-Internet-Related/Dns-Jumper.shtml Maybe buy some more ram Right-Clicking
  21. Hello W.O.D I have been looking around for one of these for ages! Can I have it? Please
  22. Two or three things that I would do is first is either obtain the manual and find out what drive you have fitted. or run this handy little tool to fetch up the internal spec's http://www.piriform.com/speccy Then go to the makers website support section and look for the latest driver. Windows automatic update driver tool is not great at finding drivers, try uninstalling the driver, reboot and let the new hardware wizard install the new driver. I guess you have run the built in troubleshooting tool? Have you made sure autoplay is set? Both of the above can be found via the control panel, There is a command prompt available to further diagnose the issue (diskpart) but this would require a degree of confidence or a decent tutorial Good Luck Right-Clicking
  23. This might help !! http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Install-Setup-e-g-Windows-8/parsing-error-in-file-c-program-files-hp-digital-imaging-bin/m-p/1478019#M57352 Right-Clicking
  24. If you have had no error messages and as you said it was sudden.......I would try doing a system restore, any changes that have been made either by you or by an unknown source (Virus) can be "undone" This will not effect your data files only programs and O/S, In windows 7 simply hit the windows key and start typing system restore, when it shows, open the application and check the box that says "show more points" pick a restore point, say a week before the sudden slow done and let windows roll back you machine. If you need any more help PM me Right-Clicking
