  1. I agree with James. If the same service level is maintained, hours are potentially extended, and the business becomes viable rather than loss-making, what are we protesting about?
  2. I don't drive or cycle. Weaving is fine but not if you cause the car behind you to brake as you weave across them. Jumping reds is never OK. If you're in a mixed zone, give way to the pedestrians. And there really is no excuse to wear lycra or shave your legs if you're a bloke.
  3. No Robshaw, Best and inclusion of Matt Stevens the big surprises for me.
  4. The poor trees in Lacon Road took a hammering a couple of month ago, and the flowers are few and far between this year. I know nothing about tree mgt but the timing seemed a little strange and I've no idea why one of the trees escaped the worst of the 'trimming'.
  5. Sweet! Looking forward to getting home tonight for a look.
  6. Kernel Table Beer is great. Full of flavour and relatively low alcohol content so you can drink it all night.

  8. Change
  9. unklereemus, where are you on Lacon? I find it a very quiet street on the whole so I assume you're at the other end (I'm at the Crawthew Grove end). Good luck with resolving your issue.
  10. Was driving along Beckenham high road at the weekend and the same thing happened to me. There was one space beyond the yellow box, I crossed, then a Porsche turned into the sapce and left me hanging. I politely let the driver know he'd nutmegged me (shrug of shoulders) and he gave me a furious finger in return, then over-revved big time in pulling away (inevitably to brake hard about 10 yards down the road). I just don't get these guys.
  11. And Rafa too when Chelsea visit Old Trafford please.
  12. Definitely both. Thanks! El Pibe Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > talking of bonkers, 2 hours of hundreds of fans' > star wars recreations spliced together. > madeness, genius or both? > > http://www.starwarsuncut.com/newhope
  13. A bit of 'old school' banter, Brian Moore style: "So comprehensive was the mauling it moved Sky co-commentator Stuart Barnes to make the astute observation that ?there isn?t a tighthead in the world that hasn?t taken a pounding from an older man.? Indeed."
  14. Who's that then JohnL? JohnL Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > One of our own posters articles here
  15. Burrito Joe, Bow Lane (south). Good for hangovers.
  16. I had a great brekkie on the street outside the Blue Brick on Sat - does that count? It's a great spot on a nice day. If you're a City slave, I recommend the two street food 'artistes' at the bottom of Bow Lane - the pulled pork sandwich is very good.
  17. I agree, to the point where offering a school admissions consulation service would almost make a viable business. And that can't be right.
  18. As Canela and others have said, send your kids to the best school for them, irrespective of whether it's state, private or religious. I lean towards state education for a number of reasons (no least of all cost!) but if Dulwich College come a knocking and I think my lad would enjoy it, thank you very much.
  19. Here is James' latest comment on the location of JKPS: "The preferred SE24 site for JKPS is on the SE22 border" Hopefully he can update you further lighweight. Not sure it's right to say JKPS have suddenly opted for HH; they've kept parents as informed as possible and HH has been on the cards for a good while. Good luck!

  21. This thread is scaring the bejesus out of me (2 year old and do not live particulalrly close to any schools).
  22. I totally agree that men and women should be treated equally when it comes to flexible working hours. But unlike some posters I am grateful when my boss lets me come in late or leave early or work from home. It's not ideal for my company when I do that and it's my choice to work and have kids.
  23. The paper does not say so explicitly, but there are several references to the building being unfit for purpose and expensive to maintain, so it's not an unreasonable inference. first mate Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Seriously, the whole thing is going to be ripped > down?
  24. I think the point is that some rich people may not deserve the stick they get. Which I agree with. No idea about the rest of the debate though.
  25. Agree with the posts above. Frankly, some of the dog brigade come across as completely bonkers.
