former East Dulwich councillor - how can I help?
Chillaxed replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
James, I'm sure you'll respond to the above post politely as you do to other rude posts. I reckon though that you should cut a few votes loose and tell rude posters to go jump. You'll likely win more votes in admiration for doing so. -
Sorry to interrupt the thread again, but I have to give Otta his due for that post. Big laughs at work. Congrats Midivydale. Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Don't do it!!! > > Oh wait, you're the woman in the relationship. > > As you were.

Get out of what exactly? Just to be clear, I'm just curious (as I said). Sorry, but I don't give enough of a ?$%^ to engage in this any further. Cheers. Isn't this thread for quick-fire (irrational) moans? God knows there are plenty of other threads on breast feeding, etc to engage in endless debate on.

Dulwich Medical Centre - Any good?
Chillaxed replied to Juliette&Rich's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
For those interested, I spoke to the Practice Manager at DMC CPR today. I felt she was honest and understanding in her answers. Highlights: - they're well aware of the complaints and have recently completed a 'demand and capacity audit'; - they currently have 9.8 FTE GP's on their books. The results of the audit suggested to them that rather than employ more GP's they need to better utilise their time; - part of this is to better reflect the demographics of their patient list, i.e. lots of under 5's, in their service; - the powers that be require them to keep their patient list open, but they are looking at channelling new patients to different facilities; - they are looking at staggering the release of priority appts i.e. not all to the 8 o'clock queuers; - the are also looking at setting up a triage both on the phone and in the early morning to better allocate priority appts to those in need; - the planning permission for the pharmacy is on hold and if it goes ahead it will have no impact on the GP service. I?m just relaying the conversation for those interested so I won't be able to answer follow up questions or challenges. I encouraged her to meet the complaints head on on the EDF (a la James) which she will consider. That's all. -

Agree with ????. Also, Carney's wife was making a joke about the flood of rich Parisian's into London i.e. now the taxes are being scaled back there might be a few houses left to rent, ha ha. Any inference that she was complaining about not being able to find adequate accom for ?5k a week is the Evening Standard's.

Not like you to stoop to generalisations LM. I've recently moved in and can assure you that I saw nothing of my family in the article. Otta, as you've previous form, perhaps you could let the Family Room know about this thread as I'd be interested to hear their views.

Well yes, kinda my point. keane Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I think it would be mean to post about them on > here - I totally agree the child should say sorry > as that's the only way to learn, but I don't think > there will be a big cost of redecorating - when > the same thing happened to us I just touched up > the paint with the same colour and it was fine. > It's always hard to get to exactly the bottom of > which child did which bit when they are together. > I now go rushing upstairs on play dates if the > 'silence' goes on too long as that's when they > could be up to something! Or post about it on here if she's local.

Though I saw the post and thought it strange, the idea that it was an attempt to publicise the EDL is stranger still. Though the reflection of the photographer in the mirror behind did look a touch menacing.

Not doing herself any favours on the PR front by donning the pearls for the photoshoot either.

Ryan and Faletau out, Launchbury and God knows who in. Maybe Warburton could play 8 with Robshaw at 7, but then I'd be concerned about the Aussie fetchers dominating. Not sure about BOD either.

Oh please, don't lump all the 'nice middle class families of ED' in with one person's opinion. Lame. Can't open link I'm afraid smprsn. I'm on Lacon and though I am not the Phantom Turd-Chalker I have a feeling I'll support whatever was written.

Gotta love the internet. No matter what the subject, you can always be sure someone will have superior knowledge or experience of the subject to you. *cuts finger on latest P&L report and stumbles teary-eyed to the office first aid kit* Edited to note that H's post snuck in while I was drafting mine and I was 100% referring to KK's post, not H's.

Note to self - quoting woodrot can get you into trouble. I like the bollards, and the curvy streetlamps, and the new grocers, but then being a lucky b*stard these are the kind of services/improvements that I use/appreciate. Someone who depends on the govt for shelter, food, etc may feel differently. I also like the disco lights at ED station.

"You live here, you are local. No one has dibs on an area because they've lived there longer than someone else." I agree with you (hence the use of speech marks for 'locals'; a cop out I know). But a quick scan of this forum proves that many don't, and resent the 'newbies' (more copping out). And I have sympathy for them where all they see as the net result of govt spending is, to quote woodrot, nazi grocers. And penis-shaped bollards.

I agree with david_carnell insofar as I use the new businesses. But it seems to me that the beneficiaries of the regeneration scheme and the new businesses it's attracted are the people who've moved to the area as a result (incl. me), rather than the 'locals'.
