silverfox Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Have to say that far from Sophiescarlett89 being > demented her post made perfect sense and was well > argued. Really? So the reaction is 'a ploy to detract attention from more important issues our society is facing'? 'It could have just as easily been a paedophile who got in that day'? 'I say more should be done about the dog fighting going on, stabbings, wannabe gangsters and nonses roaming our streets!'? This is perfect sense and well argued?

Is it me, or does the north or east side of a road often have bigger, nicer houses? As if this was the preferred side of the road for Victorians. Maybe the 'cool kitchen' theory explains it. North facing garden is a deal breaker for me. When we were looking for our house, we passed on some nice places for just this reason.

I saw a woman in PJ's on LL today. She looked very tired/hungover/fed up. I'm cool with that; in fact I think it should be a condition of wearing PJ's in public. Cleanly shaved or freshly made up or perfectly hairstyled suggests an effort has been made, and effort and PJ's don't go together.

Lost wedding ring scam surfaces in ED

With you Bouncy. Trust all the mockers on this thread will maintain their current bravado and sangfroid into old age and infirmity. -
Gee lane lover, you're really doing us Kiwis proud on this Forum. Big Mac. Like a lot of things I might have otherwise grown out of, it brings back good memories for me.

Same as Pickle. It costs near ?1000 (once you factor in travelling to and from the passport office, buying the test textbook, etc) and takes a fair while. And that's just citizenship. You then need to pay for and jump through the hoops and loops of getting a passport (which like Pickle I haven't bothered with 'cause no country has a beef with NZ). Well worth it for mine.

malumbu, you win, I've been to McD's many more times than you. Moving on, I do indeed go for the extra hamburger, Otta. And despite always doing this, I will tack it on to the end of the order as if an afterthought (and not considered greed). When my wife was away recently I resolved to try every burger (or sandwich) on the menu. Have to addmit that was taking it a little too far.

Could you list the topics you do give a sh*t about so we know what we're allowed to post on? Thanks.

Nah, keep 'em coming. I know this sounds weird, but if I'm bored by a post or it's been done before, I just move on.

Thanks George W. This sort of 'you're either with us or you're evil' logic turns me off. There will be plenty of people who care about the community and the environment who do not support your campaign or who focus their efforts on other campaigns. Gonna stick up for LondonMix here. I do not know enough about the Lewisham Hospital issue to make any sort of substantive comment, but I have read LM's comments on this and other threads and see no 'gratuitousness' or 'dogmatic employment of fallacies'. Rather, he or she seems to be highly engaged in local issues and willing to take the time to research the topic. For mine, being well informed and using logic and reason to make a point does not equate to gratuitousness or condescension.

Judith Kerr Primary School formal consultation
Chillaxed replied to James Barber's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Public meeting tomorrow: "Dear parents and supporters, This is a quick reminder that the second of our two public consultation events takes place tomorrow, Saturday 2 February at St Faith's Community Centre, Red Post Hill, London SE24 9JQ. The meeting will start at 10am and run for about an hour. At the meeting you will be able to ask and give us your feedback about our plans. I'm sure that prospective parents will also be keen to meet the team and especially Basia Lubaczewska, our new Headteacher. Our first meeting two weeks ago was very successful, and it would be great to see you this weekend, whether or not you have previously been to one of our events. With best wishes. Agree 100%. Even if the prices aren't displayed, you'd ask wouldn't you? ED's (ward) population has grown by roughly 1500 since the 2001 census. In other interesting stats, no-one in ED was born in Antarctica.

Taxis with Car Seats - Local or London based?
Chillaxed replied to Nuckles's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Abbey Cars will keep your car seat for you if you book them for the return journey from the airport (if you ask nicely). -
OK, thanks cazbee, will give it a try. Loved your comment, etta166, about your kids still brushing their teeth lying down! cazbee Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I did look this up on the Arm and Hammer website > and it doesn't state a minimum age, just to use > adult supervision for under 3 year olds and to > regularly inspect the brush in case of loose > parts. New 'banksy' style mural, Blackwater street
Chillaxed replied to Cedges's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
aprovocateur - there's a wall on the corner of Spurling Road and East Dulwich Road calling out to you. -
This guy is a kindred spirit, Woodrot: http://tvnz.co.nz/national-news/morgan-steps-up-cat-free-new-zealand-campaign-5328701

Thanks cazbee. Any idea of the recommended minimum age to use the 'spinbrush'?

Cool, thanks krigh.

Nope, we're in the terraces, so garden has a westerly aspect. Provided you've no trees or illegal extensions blocking your southerly aspect though, I reckon you'll get plenty of sun.

Didn't here much about it after that night, save a visit from the police asking if we saw anything. No denial or confirmation that the perp was shooting at a particular person or house. They did reassure us that they believed those involved were not local. All part of living in ED, LM! motorbird83 - pls don't think for a minute that this incident is a general reflection of ED or Lacon. Both are friendly and relatively safe in my experience.
-
No joke. My wife and I returned home one evening to find Lacon Road sealed off and the police on hands and knees with torches searching for (I presume) casings. Turned out a few shots had been fired (at what I'm not sure) from the back of a scooter. There's a thread on here somewhere (sorry, haven't worked out how to link to threads).

Dulwich Medical Centre - Any good?
Chillaxed replied to Juliette&Rich's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
While you're considering your options, if you turn up at the DMC at 8am and queue, they'll generally give you an appt same day. Not an option for many, but if you're mobile and close by it works.
