  1. What places currently sell booze 24/7 in SE22?I didn't know any did and info might come in handy if I get a 5am thirst.
  2. Bob, That's the usual one i was thinking of, though I think he likes to give the impression he has driven non-stop overnight with the catch that he's caught himself on his own little boat with his own little net. This one was new so I wondered a) if he was bona fide b) if so, if he was any good - can't be any more expensive than Moxons, which is very close to us.
  3. He came round asking if we wanted fresh fish but had no van in sight so I wondered how reliable he was. Also we've had one before who claimed fish was fresh from a trawler in Hull/Grimsby but it looked like it had just come from the freezer counter in Iceland. No northern accents this time, wondered if this was the same company.
  4. Anyone had the fish man round today? What did you think of him? Did you try any fish? Did you see any van?
  5. I know there's the argument that if you don't breach traffic regs you've got nothing to fear, but that little camera car does seem brutally efficient. It was parked on the corner of East Dulwich Grove at around 4.30 today, near the box junction on Lordship Lane. I couldn't quite understand who it was after but I bet it was doing a brisk trade. No-one would surely have been stupid enough to park on the double yellow lines right in front of it, if it was there to catch people sitting in the box junction it was being pretty sneaky about it. Maybe it was there to catch cars doing illegal right turns?

Crikey indeed. I think we viewed that house when we moved to ED in 1995. It was on the market for about....?95,000. Make what you will of that...
  7. Good morning, Thanks for all your replies. The mixed response seems to suggest that there is no right or wrong answer. I guess Marmora Man put their finger on it by saying it's parenthood, but in this case what does parenthood mean? the tough love of teaching them to take responsibilty for their own clumsiness/bad luck or perpetually bailing them out when they get in a fix. Or, maybe, as Huguenot says, tell them to live with it ? get them to learn that life isn't perfect. Anyway, the dilemma was unexpectedly avoided last night. She went to The Apple Store who initially said a replacement would be ?140. When she hesitated they knocked the prices down to ?70. The when she agreed their system went down and they were unable to process it so gave her a free replacement anyway. Conclusion? if you have a Mac problem don't go to your heart-like-a-stone parents, go to apple in Covent Garden and start sobbing.
