    1300 - a-a-a-a-nd relax.
  6. We also have a roof terrace that is sunny & can get quite windy; we grow lots of different things in pots from lobelia and alyssum to poppies, lupins and foxgloves. For climbers/cover; nasturtiums (great for climbing , leaf cover and colour - and both leaves and flowers are delicious), Jasmine (good climber and scent), Honeysuckle (particularly good in shady spot). We planted lots of stocks this year too which are pretty robust and have great perfume and colour and attract lots of bees. As for budget we grew most of these from seed or v small plants - no ground frost on a roof terrace and things thrive which you'd think wouldn't.
  7. Bearing in mind REM was new to you I'd lucky dip a track or two from: The Holy Bible - Manic Street Preachers Modern Life Is Rubbish - Blur Blue Lines - Massive Attack Good Stuff - B52s Straight Outta Compton - NWA and even a bit of Nirvana and Primal Scream if you really have to.
  8. TFL van just finished putting 'Bus Stop Closed' notices on stops along LL by NtX Rd, Post Office etc.
  9. For just chips - the chinese take away Hong Hong on Grove Vale does good thick crisp chips.
  10. Large 'Brakes' truck unloading there the other day - later seen delivering to the Plough - so the food will be, er, unsurprising. Like the generic beers lined up on the T-Bar pumps. Maybe they put in an underground pool?

What exactly are the lib dems holding out for before getting together with May? They'll never be in a better position to (try and) show they're not completely irrelevant. Surely there's a back-door deal being discussed.
  12. The first step towards EDF The Musical?
  13. Nah, the 8 June thread is history* *boom-tish!
  14. Another great game in the white ball championship. First Pakistan then Sri Lanka now Bangladesh putting a record stand of 224 together (after being 12 for 3!) to beat the Kiwis - and they'll qualify for the semis if England beat Australia - which will mean NZ & Aussie going home! Perfect antidote to too much election special.
  15. I've posted it in 'ED businesses...' etc. but for those who don't trawl (I said trawl) the forum fully I just wanted to mention that the Butcher's Shop opposite the Plough is closing tomorrow (Sat 10th June) so regular customers might want to drop by to wish him well (he's off to Bromley). Still plenty in the shop (though he's been running down the stock prior to move) so you have until 5pm tomorrow.

  18. Had the luxury of being able to listen to whole game today on TMS - India seemingly setting the kind of target Sri Lanka couldn't hope to get near - but they've just smashed it with some great batting, winning by 7 wickets with 9 balls in hand - after Pakistan's fine win yesterday this is turning into a very open championship. Shame the tv highlights are so poorly done - never thought I'd wish Ch5 were covering the cricket instead of the BBC.

A GOOD kick is for far more than relieving pressure though - it means that you run forward to put pressure on the receiver but that the opposition has to run back and, having done so, has to get behind the ball before they are in play. A little psychological advantage and turnover is always a little more possible or the receiver might kick into touch giving a territorial advantage as well as possession. A BAD kick gives the opposition possession and all the time needed to mount a counter. Kickers are either loved or reviled by their forwards (depending on how much running to and from they have to do while fly-halfs swap kicks).

Fly tipping is for neophytes - it's cow tipping or nothing in these here parts*. *Done in a gentle caring way of course and with a nod to turnip tipping for the bovinely squeamish - that's the EDF way.
