  1. Congratulations to the managerial IDIOT who managed to ruin the General Swim for everyone today by squeezing the available space down to a single narrow lane running only two thirds of the length of the pool. Impossible to pass anyone without touching/colliding. And all so the aquarobics CLASS (run at a nice fat profit for FUSION) could have more space. Here's an idea for this befuddled woman who obviously couldn't manage a piss-up in a puddle - maybe there should be less people in the class if half the pool isn't big enough for them?!? Nice to see the brand new "From May 2012" timetable already screwed. Joined the queue of annoyed and frustrated punters at the desk to get my money back.

Iceland were the first supermarket chain to ban genetically modified foods - and to remove chemical colourants from its fresh egg range.

    Internet TVs?

There are no costs among us just costermongers which doesn't make the cost humungous... No, I know, I just felt like it.
  4. 4. Different threads attacking the typical ED resident are never started by the same person......ever.
  5. I lived nr Elephant & Castle for 8 years and did a lot of shopping on Walworth rd. Hardly ever used the M&S there - DID use Iceland, Safeway, East St Mkt. the big 'mediterranean supermarket' next to Iceland, the chinese supermkt and many others. M&S never gentrified the Wally Rd. It's just another chain-supermarket (no pants) and they may even be about to step directly into Iceland's shoes with their new budget food range.

    Internet TVs?

My old (bought on the forum) Panasoninc Quintrix CRT is still handling everything the plugged-in devices can throw at it and delivering a brilliant picture and deep full sound. It just takes up as much room as a small sofa.

  8. Barton IS an arse but I can't help liking him - everyone explodes now and again and he's bound to be punished for it (and Mr Clean is due a come-uppance). I think Barton's frustrations were borne out of the realisation that the move to QPR was a bad one and has stymied what he believes should be a stellar career - but like I say, he IS an arse.

  12. Delighted for QPR after what they've been through - Congrats to the Blue Half of Mancton and... Gekommen auf Sie Bayern! Herauf die Rott?ne!
  13. There were so many cupcake stalls some had to be ironic... but there were plenty of cushions there too - and 'hand crafted' jewellery - and some bizarre rags on string being sold as bunting - and several ways of emptying your wallet on creams, lotions and potions designed to create a new and beautiful you... (no gollies that I could see this year though) ...but also a rash of crepe stalls, the excellent Melange choccy stall, a great macaroon stall and the usual beer, jerk, sausage and paella stalwarts.

  15. Ah yes - I remember hearing the dreaded "whop!" as one of these was fired at the back of the head... Needless to say the inevitable outcome was an arms race - hence the 'special ops' version... http://www.timewarptoys.com/rbazooka1.jpg

  17. Forget James Bond or The Man From Uncle, I had what was a must-have for every budding Carlos-The-Jackal - The "Secret Sam" Attache Case... http://auctionimages.s3.amazonaws.com/17426/20200/7366069_3CK02SIQD.jpg The camera really worked and you could use it and/or fire the bullets from the gun 'secretly' when the case was closed - or fire that red thing (a 'secret message holder') to your 'oppo'. Wonder why don't we give children imaginative toys like this any more?

  19. lizbells6 - there's a 'stopping smoking' thread here which might have a few more tips. Didn't go the leccy-fag route as I was trying to get away from sucking on something (just made me want to smoke) so I am still using these - http://www.google.co.uk/url?source=imglanding&ct=img&q=http://cached.imagescaler.hbpl.co.uk/resize/scaleToFit/393/263/?sURL=http://offlinehbpl.hbpl.co.uk/news/2MM/DD50BA76-BF64-46A1-2EB817380D58DF45.jpg&sa=X&ei=jjqAT6fxEsL48QP5z-2JBg&ved=0CAwQ8wc&usg=AFQjCNFPhegwMzKpNDIoKidpCpe9OZ5HSg - they're not cheap but you can get a twin pack on prescription. 21. It's a strange ol'game though... if CH leaves, what price the owners(?) doing a Redknapp and bringing McLeish back when he gets sacked? ... or Steve Bruce is still hanging around...
  22. It's that IF though LB... a theoretical non-argument that everyone knows is perfectly safe to totally ignore. Especially if it rains...
  23. Having hammered the 'Pool twice in the league complacency is our biggest worry - just hope SA can get players on their game* *(and then - when we get promoted - retire gracefully with much thanks and a nice clock so we can get in a manager with some verve).
  24. Listen mush - no one is using MY facilities unless they're friends or family.
  25. Definitely worth a look Donna - lots of very good food and drink, arty-crafty stalls and live music plus bouncy castle/slide and donkey rides for the kids - very busy last year and a lot of fun in a chaotic noisy colourful kind of way. ETA: you can check out last year's fair (including pre and post reactions) here
