Anything the England team achieves with Terry as a part of it will be tarnished. Rio and Carrick and Cole (and not because they are all WH old boys) should all have been included and/or persuaded to join the squad.
  3. There's always this place tucked away in Landells Rd which - though it slightly resembles a 30s cinema has probably always been a factory of sorts - looks like it could be easily converted and support a small car park (provided current resident businesses were in favour)...
  4. I have my feet up and am watching a lot of miserable, sodden wretches standing gazing at a river full of equally miserable, equally drenched bods on boats and listening to the BBC's finest tell me how truly, wonderfully, spectacular it all is... I am thinking of applyng damp towelettes to the back of my neck to get in the swing of things...
  5. Yep - another out-of-contract player moving on. Well, I don't have to fret about him making a rickett in the Euros now... And at least Jaaskelainen is experienced.

  7. Got a couple of bees sleeping on plants at the moment - suggestions are they are either avoiding the rain or the cooler air makes them tiredquestion mark or they're just catching a nap... anyone know? Photos attached - not great quality as the wind kept moving the little sods around... but anyone know what type of bee and why they might be so knackered? added photos underneath - after much swearing
  8. And if that doesn't do it for woody...

  12. It's the blocking of access that matters not whether you nick a bike or a shabby mac while you're there. What's wrong with a bit of vicarious window shopping? I don't mind a raid on Brick Lane - I just object to being told I can't go there. No entry because we say so? No, that IS a problem. But I suppose you think that 'You wouldn't be visiting the site unless you wanted to nick stuff so it's right to ban you' is right? A nice little bit of criminalisation by assumption, or 'If you've nothing to hide you've nothing to fear' hmm? ETA: As for the geezer in the pub with the long coat - no I don't need a ticker but I can chat wiv' a bloke can't I? Jeez!

I just hope Hodgson gives Ox-Ch a run out and doesn't insist on playing him out of position. England need something new to give them a boost and he could be it. Otherwise same-ol' same-ol'.

    B*stard pears

HMB has started the bank holiday weekend early... http://cache2.allpostersimages.com/p/LRG/30/3002/S9DBF00Z/posters/pink-lady-drink-recipe.jpg
  15. Undisputedtruth Wrote: ------------------------- Sky, BT, Virgin Media and Talk > Talk have 87% broadband market share. But surely the more sites blocked by the big ISPs the more alternative ISPs will be created and thrive? Huge points out - "The Pirate Bay is a trading operation that's illegal under UK law," yeah - so is marijuana but not in Amsterdam (atm anyway)... so would you think it fair if you were stopped from going to Amsterdam? Or would you rather have your movements monitored and get a cavity search at customs on the way back with a sniffer dog up your trouser leg? Similarly would you rather be blocked from such sites or be allowed to visit them but have your 'visits' and any downloads monitored by secret squirrels's copyright dept? Neither is (and must be) the answer, regardless of the copyright theft issues. This is a creeping curtailment of freedom and an attempt to increase the state's ability to monitor it's subjects. For the public good of course.
  16. My OH checked with the guy behind the counter at ED station the other day (she has to get in on Sun am) and he said they were running.
  17. I think the fans will get behind him. With Hodgson they all wanted the return of King Kenny - well they've had that now so - apart from thereturnofRafa.org - there's nowhere else to go. A lot depends, though, on what KK will do now - and how much (if at all?) he interferes/comments from the sidelines.

    B*stard pears

There are some very large apples (can't remember the name) in Pretty's atm with quite a pear-like taste and texture - by which I mean sweet not sharp and with a porous rather than a tight texture - my OH is a pear fanatic and she loved 'em.
  19. Blimey! They knocked the tree down as well?!? Bastards.

I read this too - well judging from the group of 8-10 that dart around dive-bombing and screeching at dusk in the Shawbury-Hansler Rd area they seem to be thriving in ED (unless they are the same as those wolis has seen on Barry Rd?). They are just above roof-top level rather than high up so I'm assuming they have nest sites nearby.

I hope Hodgson's decision to give lampard the #8 shirt and Parker the #17 is not a reflection of his intentions when it comes to a starting eleven... (ditto Terry - Lescott).
  22. I was surprised to read (on the nature thread) of the heron in Dulwich Park killing a baby rat and can only suppose that the heron in the Rye's Japanese Garden is a lazy bastard who has made all the squirrels complacent. Buck up Peckham Heron - you're a bloody show-up.
