  2. Okay I could be totally wrong, and I apologise to said art student in advance if I am, but there used to be a scam - back in the early 1980s - where a van would take a handful of young people to a different area every night/weekend, armed with convincing looking prints etc. that cost only a couple of quid, and claiming to be art students trying to 'get by'. These 'students' would charge a lot more and were usually paid a comission on what they sold. As I say I could be wrong but I would advise a close look at the 'work' anyway.
  3. The situation in Southampton makes a six hour stoppage and proposed 24hr strike seem like small beer - and is possibly the start of something that could spread whether one supports the actions or not. (irrelevant aside)- The colour and design of the pretty 'Unite' flags looked so much like Coca Cola banners that (together with the strikers' hi-vis tops) the whole thing looked like some kind of stadium construction workers' pre-Olympic celebration.
  4. I did have something quite illuminating to post... but it can wait.

There, there Tarot. I think you'd better go and have a lie down now, hm?
  6. Do It Like A Dude - Jessie J. (Go on, go on! it's an open goal!) ETA: Ooooh! A Darren Bent special - missed by a mile....
  7. and did Matron give the lads a good scrub down in the slipper baths?
  8. Perhaps, as Mr Davies obviously has a disabled 'moral compass', he should lead the way and serve the rest of his, hopefully last, term in office by cleaning the House of Commons toilets for ?4.50/hr?
  9. If M&S was "intrinsically linked" with The Guardian - wouldn't they sell newspapers?
  10. 'Au contraire'? You realise this is horses tip-toeing through the pylons and pirouetting on demand and not Madame Vilain-Gar?on-Spanker's special training?

Yes but I think you misread my post Sue - if you look again you will see I was referring to the Sogim Pharmacy that used to be the Co-op Chemist (hence the crack about Brut) and not the Co-op that used to be Somerfield. I do do (no smutty puns Frank) my shopping in LL Co-op and I am a 'member' which I thought pretty pointless until I got ?40 worth of 'divvy'. ;-)

  15. I would have thought M&S regulars more likely to be Mail readers. I used to read the Guardian but a combination of New Labour and Polly Toynbee gave me a serious allergy to its increasingly smug 'we're in charge now' attitude and every time I try and go back to it I get a rash (not as bad as the boils from Private Eye but uncomfortable nevertheless).
  16. Listening to TMS yesterday Jonathan Agnew commenting that he bid for a lot of events in 1st round and all he got was dressage too, destined to be the byword for Olympic disappointment. *concerned friend* "What's up mate?" *crestfallen gent* "Dressage." *concerned friend* "Ouch."

When you are experiencing a particularly explosive 'petite mort' do you bang on about the "involuntary, or autonomic, limbic system, muscular spasms in multiple areas of the body, autonomic physiologic responses and the importance of the limbic system" or make do with an "Aaaaargh"?
