Looking forward to the QF against Shrewsbury :)
  2. So the 'debate' so far has run along expected lines; A. "Look at the wonderful people on our side and the nasty stupid ones on yours! THAT'S why you should vote our way!" B. "Your arguments are ridiculous, you are an idiot, you are wrong! Everyone who thinks your way is the same." C (hardly to be seen) I think 'x' but understand why you think 'y'. I see what you say and rather than take page after mind numbingly dull page trying to shoot you down and show why I am best I will just put my own argument/pov. My reasons for my choice (atm) are...
  3. Always been an 'in' but lately... the smugness and the patronising and the scare stories don't bother me as they are to be expected. It's just that I sometimes think 'what if we really did it?' The 'deal' means nothing and changes nothing. The pull of the unknown appeals. A lot. Before the Scots ref. I wanted them to stay but now i think they should have voted for independence and I have to confess to leaning more and more to breaking things down/up. I think I am - at present - an 'out'.

Being a bit hard on LvG Red? Midjtydjyvlltycicc are a well known footballing force; 'Pride of Jutland' is the cry in the homesteads of Herning.
  6. Subway Sect are touring a few dates this year - they were great live - would go and see them again even at the risk of massive disappointment.

All that is extracted has to go somewhere though - and when the wind's in the wrong direction (and in mind to create a down-draft on their roof-top vent) living in the vicinity of GBK's noxious outpourings is a tad sick-making also.

  11. On the ocassions I feel oystery Moxons has served well enough - though I do prefer the more expensive natives (when they have them) to the rocks. Guinness or Champagne is my habitual accompanying slurp but I find a Cava works well too (Prosecco is too flaccid). And of their kippers (Lapsang the beverage of choice) I always found the Manx ones plump and well smoked without tasting over-salted. Still rather a smoked sprat or seven though when the elusive little bleeders are around. Of other tasty bivalves I suppose the scallop is the one I'd choose (a crisp white Burgundy) - not sure they travel well though, as they always (seem to) taste best in Cornwall, though that may be the air.

  14. Love an oyster or six - whether in steak, kidney and oyster pudding or alive and naked except for a little shallot vinegar, and i like to masticate the slippery feckers a little rather than just suck and swallow - I'm sure i can hear them scream.

  16. I don't have any subscription tv channels so have missed a lot of the big fights and was interested to see how this turned out. I'm probably out of practice when it comes to judging these things but this Aussie being ranked 10th in the world was either a ridiculously optimistic (for him) rating or there really is a dearth of good fighters out there or - OR - he hung his chin out for Haye to smack.

Another come-back win! And Payet is well and truly back! MOTM. Like Slav said "He's a player who makes all the others better".
  18. She's going to do The Graduate in Sydney and wants better reviews than she got last time. Love a girl who'll go the extra mile.
  19. I've recently encountered - and very much enjoyed - chocolate beer, coffee beer, chilli beer and smoked beer (the best being the 'Dirty Stop Out' smoked oatmeal stout by Tiny Rebel Brewery of Wales). The more variety the better i say - my current fave is the Tiny Rebel 'Cwtch' - an amber/red ale with a bitter, spicy, malty and - yes - tropical fruity thing going on. Delicious.
  20. If we get back a couple of years to that long and winding 'The Beatles' thread... maxxi 18 January, 2014 13:44 Saying the Beatles are overrated is overrated and overdone. I would just add that someone desperate to draw attention to themselves was bound to name them on this thread. That is all.

Good result today - rough losing Payet, Sakho, Moses but team hung on, no collapse and even some 0-0s were entertaining, now players coming back - Payet off bench today - and Antonio developing into another good buy.
  25. Wasn't there a period (allegedly) of Poit?n making involving potato wine put into shallow trays and frozen? The Applejack method - http://www.distillingliquor.com/2015/02/13/how-to-make-applejack-freeze-distillation/
