I have come to accept that I really no longer care about international football - at all.

  3. They way I understand it vegans refuse to benefit in any way from what they see as the exploitation of any animal. Being a blind vegan must really suck. Ironic given that a B12 deficiency can damage eyesight.
  4. I started a petition to ban the voices in my head but got nowhere - even though they all signed. It's madness.

  8. I used to use it (Dulwich Supermarket) a lot before it changed hands - prices have gone up since then and there's more high-end organic stuff which is obviously what people want. Don't use it so much now.
  9. Booklet quotes this url - http://www.southwark.gov.uk/info/200024/consultations but can't find it on there - you may know better how to find it. Failing that there is a contact name, email and no. for "more information" - Mahama Razak 020 7525 3249 / [email protected] eta- follow Otta's link.
  10. Received a glossy leaflet detailing the proposed building out of pavements on LL either side of NthX Rd to provide cycle parking and to "improve inter-visibility", also proposals to reduce width of pelican crossing, raise entry table on NthX Rd.,completely resurface road all along this section of LL, removal of short-stay parking bay north of pelican crossing to give buses more room to pull in to bus stop. A series of vital improvements or a waste of time? (apart from resurfacing as the lane is cracked to buggery along there)

I blame tv. Good to see Keown wondering whether he'd have to twat a fan to get safely off the pitch though.

  14. crispy fried pigs ears (like chewy scratchings) mmmmmmmmmn.....

Great game on BBC2 - old style cup football - really good to watch. Warrington for the cup!
  17. Live v close to LL and the noise/buzz - sometimes a pain in summer when windows are open but many pluses - like 'meet in bar at 8' so leave at 2-minutes-to, and never daunted by prospect of crawl home.
  18. I think it failed (is failing?) because it stopped being a pub and became a restaurant with a cold, impersonal bar which was a bit of an atmospheric vacuum*. This is based on my one and only visit in January when it was getting raves for food. Once the food went downhill (as reviews suggest it did) it was all over. *And that bloody awful illuminated cow's head thing.
  19. "once I've completed my research on the Business thread I'll publish my findings" Not 'having a dig' (you really are too sensitive - has no one ever mentioned this?) but have a look at yerself man, 'tis pretty funny.

I think it struck everyone used to his interview technique that such a taciturn close-mouthed man should become quite so voluble quite so quickly. It's a bit weird sometimes. Like hearing a dog talk.
  22. I like him - in a 'world would be duller without' kind of way. He makes it easy to twatterise him but there's something about the 'leave political thinking to the grown-ups sonny' attitude, from a lot of those who make their living at it, that will "strike an irksome chord with young disaffected yoof methinks*." *as I can almost hear him say.

  24. This is what happens when you change your forum id - someone comes along and puts new nets up. Personally I rather miss the ear shattering roar of a Concorde going overhead so this doesn't bother me.
