'as a cyclist' 'as a motorist' 'as a pedestrian' 'as a mother' FFs enough already. (speaking 'as an anti-miserablist' obv.)

A cup competition where only champions took part would be- oh hang on... (sponsored by the bring-back-the-cup-winners'-cup-too campaign)

Huge was often forthright, sometimes patronising/superior, sometimes dismissive and cynical, sometimes humorous but was never a bully and far from having a coterie of acolytes often faced regular posters ranged against him in his various posturings.

Callow the locksmith: "Oooh look! A thread on the EDF that's got lots of posts! I wonder what people are-... What the Fuck!?"

so we're not posting them here? okay. mine were back to the usual dreadful-ness this week anyway. eta: erm, begs the question.. what exactly would one post on this thread? If all the action is taking place elsewhere and people can see the results on the same site where they post predictions, this is just a comments thread. "did badly this week" "x is top/bottom" "better today" "bad again" etc... on reflection I think I'll continue to bare my predictive soul - makes the pain more tangible but bragging rights (if any!) would be unquestionable ("I did put ManU down for a 6-0 loss, I did!")

What a finish, thought Blowers was going to have a Sean. Stupid ICC rule should now be scrapped - at least it'll put an end to the Aussie moaning about England time wasting and being saved by the light! A better end for England after Clarkes bravado in declaring (which he did as their only chance of winning the game rather than any Corinthian spirit) and their taunting of England as over-cautious - the Aussies got the fright of their lives and now finish the series with relief rather than a swagger. Pietersen in terrific form again.

He did not jump, he was pushed. Early training shot-

Ah, oh, no well, see I thought the tongue was an integral part of it - or have I got that wrong? http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/05/07/article-2320959-14343721000005DC-356_634x335.jpg

David A Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Bugger Blowers, his bus obsession is getting a bit > much this series. > A perfect encapsulation of Blowers this afternoon when there was a hold up for drinks and changing of the ball - in the space of a couple of minutes he started by (quite rightly) bemoaning and deploring the time wasted in changing the ball and the dithering that held up play, then misread the score as 243 when it was 293 and, on correcting himself, blamed being slightly over excited by seeing a white bus then, after one more delivery, he observed the fly-past of what he described as two of Tuffers' pigeons.

Some or much - you like the GG Blake thing and I think it's absolutley hideous, an eyesore (and I don't care whether it was painted by children or chimps). For the Bee, I just think it's clumsy and amateurish but then I DO like the crapping rat/dog in Bellenden... no accounting for it eh?

Death of football maybe not but I certainly think we're heading for a huge punch up between league and international footy thanks to the Qatar debacle. I think Patrick Barclay was right when he said it's an opportunity to put the world cup on in the winter rather than the 'off season' and would revitalise it - but league football would suffer and there would be a big dip in tv revenue which could be a mini financial crisis for some clubs not to mention the injury/fatigue knock-on effect which clubs would be clamouring to get compo for. Lately I find myself caring less and less about England's prospects/performances. Given the choice would the panel rather an England world cup victory or their club winning the premiership or (for those teams for whom that has become the norm) doing the treble?

Not working out particularly well for either Woakes or Kerrigan so far but I think Vaughan is trying too hard to be the bluff Yorkshire successor to Boycs in his assessment. The next Ashes series is a lot closer than usual so they need to look at possible spin back up (if Monty is still at odds with himself) and replacements for Bresnan (what don't they know about Onions and Tremlett that they would find out now?) and Bairstow surely had enough time to prove himself.

good to see 2 players being given their first caps in an Ashes test - rubs it in a little. Blowers to Damien Martyn: "Aggers on one side of you.. Blowers talking gibberish on the other" - buses, pigeons, bring it all on I say.

My niece and her BF came up from Bristol for the day and were happy enough with the statue of Gromit at Paddington station. I think it's a Bristol thing.

Read it years ago - great graphic novel - lousy film. I'm not going to be on regularly/often enough to monitor guesses so someone else go...

Irons 3rd in the table, maxxi joint-top of the predictor league - now to extrapolate that over the whole season...
