  1. I'll keep my eyes peeled. Hi Vis clever... How to hide in the open.
  2. I went for a walk through there yesterday. I agree it is a mess at the moment. It probably doesn't help that there is a lot of subsidence and general bogginess. I have been told that once the works are finished they will be replanting some trees and shrubs. Fingers crossed.
  3. That's the thing.. Working from home reliability's what you need more than anything.
  4. I'm thinking of doing the BT switch next year. Virgin hasn't been too bad but it is frustrating.
  5. Anyone having trouble today? Last night broadband was off.. then briefly on again.. then off again this morning. The status is saying 'good service'.
  6. And if it's being sold on the open market, who's going to buy it for community use? I'd rather it were still a police station. Apart from that it might as well be flats.. Hopefully with some architectural merit.
  7. Only a niche complaint as it's easily avoided, but Darrell road is horrible, terrible surface.
  8. Whether he thought it was a bit rough 8 years ago is only an opinion that really means nothing now. What does mean something now is that there's a thriving shop, employing people, providing a good service at reasonable prices. And we have a high street that's mostly a pleasure to shop in.
  9. I might try that route. Sounds like a good one.
  10. We have a metal hood over the letterbox on the inside to stop miscreants peeping in.
  11. I think that's just a butcher's bike.
  12. That's the fella.
  13. I had one of those in Maine once.. A McLobster. Delicious.
  14. Most shops on Rye Lane will do it.
  15. It's really nice to go out with kids to the pub for a meal but you have to respect everyone else. We go, order quickly, eat, maybe have a game of Scrabble and go. That's about enough time before boredom sets in. Children would generally prefer to be climbing trees or kicking a ball than sitting around in a boozer.
  16. Franco Manca will be good I think. I've only been to the one in Brixton a couple of times but really like it.
  17. I wouldn't say there are that many bankers in ED. It's more a lawyer kind of area.
  18. Franco Manca is great. But I think my loyalty will stay with Il Mirto. Hopefully there's room for everyone.
  19. A good piece in the Huffington Post. http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/matt-glass/london-cyclist-deaths_b_4298701.html
  20. If it's affordable housing I guess it's no bad thing. At least they look quite interesting.
  21. The Barry Road/Underhill junction is horrible. As a driver pulling put visibility is terrible due to parked cars. As a cyclist I would approach with extreme caution.
  22. I've had two terribly embarrassing 'I'm not pregnant' moments. A 'Baby on Board' badge genuinely helps.
  23. I remember a dusty old bike shop that sold Peugeot racing bikes (I think on the William Rose site). Not sure if it was Claude Butler. We were a Ron Cooper family.
  24. Silverfox's comment stupid beyond belief. Mostly cyclists have one cycling jacket that is likely to be reflective.
  25. I find them OK. We've had a few short disruptions but nothing too terrible.
