  1. Considering how much bruhaha there's been about the EDPH opening it seems unlikely that Forest Hill is suddenly going to get a cinema. Shame.. but sounds like wishful thinking.
  2. That's great news about FH. Looking forward to that being open again.
  3. Really good news. A great addition to the area.
  4. Sounds great. Pre cinema snacks might be a winner too.
  5. If BJ do move in I hope they sell more savouries. All a bit sugary for my liking.
  6. I popped into Bruno's yesterday and got myself a bottle to fill up. Good house vino. I like the shop. I hope they do some wine tasting nights or mixed cases. I know very little about wine.. Usually whatever is on offer at the CoOp. But willing to learn.
  7. That sounds ok. At least it'll be used. Such a lovely building.
  8. I imagine it's a personal a personal matter.
  9. Good if you want to retire or can work in the provinces (or from home). Otherwise you'd just spend all your money on the misery of commuting.
  10. I ride through Burgess Park every day on my commute. Up until a couple of years ago it was a desolate, intimidating, bleak place. The recent transformation has been amazing. The extended lake, bmx track, landscaping and wild flower meadows all over the place has made it a great environment. I really look forward to riding through it now. I recommend a trip.

A walk over One Tree Hill to Sodo is becoming a family favourite.
  12. Is this real? It seems like a post designed to wind up the regulars with as many flash points as possible. Apologies if I'm wrong.

Hear, hear.
  14. My dad had one of those allotments. Great views from there.
  15. Sounds fishy. I doubt they were looking for clobber.

I tried the ED Deli ones but they were too meaty. Too much sausage and not enough roll for me. I'm intrigued by the scotch egg stall.
  17. I've only ever had nice experiences of Roulier White. I never really used the ED Deli.. Mainly because the woman on Northcross Road does amazing sausage rolls.
  18. > I think school places are definitely a huge factor > in house prices, but I'd be surprised if Goodrich > is one of those roads/schools. Why surprised?
  19. It will be a big boost to restaurants in the area. People will come in from places as far afield as Forest Hill, Sydenham, Camberwell etc to see films and contribute to the ED economy.
  20. Wrong section.
  21. "Just let it grow on you. I think the "Royal Scam" and "Katy Lied" albums are the ones that really grabbed me." I like Gaucho.. No idea what any of the songs are about. But all the songs are about socially awkward situations and it too a year to record seven tracks which I like. It's not emotional music though so they wouldn't make my desert island discs. I can't listen to Ruth Moody's voice without welling up.

  23. I've bought a paella pan in readiness for the grand opening.
