  1. Is it me, or is it very low hanging? Which makes it ideal for cleaning - of course.
  2. Actually, I didn't "click" re. the Doc's post - until yours, maxxi! Thought he was having one of his uniquely mad moments. But it's very clever...very clever indeed...ha ha(tu)
  3. Yes, but what about the unfair aspects as highlighted above? Have you not been paying attention?
  4. I think it's all beginning to fall into place...thanks.
  5. @ maxxi/Jah Thank you for that. Just one more question: is it a bit like the situation with "play offs"? I.e., with play offs, is there not a similar unfairness within the system in that places for promotion are not necessarily based solely on the results of the 42 match season? I remember a great hoo-ha on this whilst at Fetcham Grove during last season's Leatherhead v Dulwich Hamlet play off where another team (Bognor, I believe) had worked their way up the Ryman League and amassed stacks of points only to lose to DH (which meant that DH ended up playing in the play off final). I promise not to ask any further questions after this...:-$ @ Doc Too kind. Short-term contract terminating Monday. Chelsea had better win and close the City/United gap ;-)! Stand clear of the closing doors now...
  6. Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Totally agree that it is very unfair for teams > knocked out of the Champs League to get a place in > the knockout stages! Excuse my ignorance, but what is unfair?
  7. Although I never saw the match, I think I remember that day, Jah (my brother and cousin are Lilywhite supporters). I vaguely recall them both going nuts with excitement over a goal by Jimmy Greaves.
  8. Alan Medic Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > ...City > are in it too. Yes they are - heh heh. Thanks for the reminder Doc.:)) Other than that singular cheering little fact, it would appear that it really is as bad as all that then...:(
  9. PGC, that is quite brilliant!. Haven't seen a tea cosy in years - let alone one of this calibre. I wonder if it possesses special midfield, scoring and goalkeeping powers? If so, I'd order 11 and made sure the boys wore them.(tu) Mr. Medic, I do the squeezing against mug with spoon thing as it is. I notice hubby sometimes uses his finger with spoon (could that be why his tastes better)?:-S Lady Kat, I am rather surprised at your suggestion - think of all those carbon emissions. Tutt Tutt. D_C, your post made me laugh. JL is right: talk about complicating matters. Almost (though not quite) as complex as the BS standard above. However, you are forgiven as I am a massive fan of the fabulous Hugh.
  10. ...it's not so bad - is it?
  11. Jah Lush Wrote: -------------------------------------------- And as for the statues I want to know > why Tony Adams has both arms up? I think the sculptor modelled it immediately upon Adams's release from prison back in the 90s: "free at last, free at last..." >:D<
  12. Imporient - eh? Does that have a fragrance to it? Hubby likes Earl Grey - though most visitors appear not to. Funny, two of the most common complaints I've received are that it's not hot enough and/or that it contains too much milk. Hmmmmm... (Cow juice - LOL) Thanks folks.
  13. Thanks Twirly. I had one of those posh teapots, until I broke it. I still have the plastic inner drainy thingy which I use as a strainer when making elderflower champagne. Looks as though making tea properly would require me to retire! I mean, take the content of that BS document - as if!

OK, investment, employment, energy, and safety arguments aside, what about the UK's undertaking to reduce its CO2 emissions? I.e. how do we reconcile utilising - what I understand to be - yet another high carbon fossil fuel with the UK Government's own commitments on climate change?

  17. Thanks BR... Stand clear of the closing doors...and take all personal belongings with you...hahahahahahaha
  18. DulwichFox Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------ > 3. Use Filtered Water. > 7. Serve Tea in China Cup. Not a Mug. (Mugs are > for builders tea.) Thank you for those very comprehensive instructions, DulwichFox. 3 questions though: 1. presumably bottled water will do? 2. OK - no mugs - understood. But, could I get away with a "pottery type cup". I have "Denby"; 3. what in the name of Tetley is "builders' tea"? Thank you.
  19. Don't drink it myself, but - apart from our windowcleaner - nobody likes my tea. Not even hubby. And a washing machine engineer once spat out his first (and last) mouthful into our sink with a subsequent "fucking hell!". :-S So, what's the secret?
  20. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...yes Doc...Monday! Monday! LOL! It's (still) the drugs! Honest! You must tell me which pills you prescribe yourself: you are always SO on the ball.(tu) Anyway: pleased with today's result?
  21. Well, Sir Alex should be pleased. Doesn't change the Champions League position of course, but - at least - United are back in City's hair. I thought United's players really pulled together today to compensate for the absent-injured. Jones and Nani were a marvel to watch. A message just for you BR. Oh, and the best of luck to Chelsea on Tuesday (goes without saying)...heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  22. A quick post during half-time at Old Trafford. You must admit that Parkdrive's "2 minutes' laughter" joke is (kinda) funny though. Well, I thought so... Anyway, now for the real reason for this post. Many thanks for the live stream links, BR. I found one which didn't require any downloading and which is relatively bearable on the adverts front. Fairly good picture/sound quality too. You have your uses!>:D<
  23. Didn't want to show any favouritism...
  24. Damn right "gigi", as he lovingly likes to call you. A few of us actually met him once. He left us with his handkerchief and some wonderful memories. *sighs*

HA HA HA!!! (tu) And if HB doesn't respond then we can safely assume that she (that yellowing and twitching bit of unfashionable fabric posing as window attire) is correct. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
