  1. Oh dear! Have you really asked him why he didn't play? (Actually, thinking about it, I can imagine you doing just that!). I'm not on Twitter, but if you could keep me up to speed with any gossip news I would be grateful LOL! Can't imagine what the score might have been had Francis and Kalvin played today. Both really solid players. (I noticed Duku was on the bench). There appeared to be a serious injury today: possibly a broken arm or dislocated shoulder - within the first few minutes of the game too. Hope the player (CCs) recovers quickly.
  2. For those who care... Fabulous play from Hamlet. They seem to be going from strength to strength. Got a really good team together now. Am liking the new goalie too. Score today: Dulwich Hamlet 3; Corinthian Casuals 0. Goals scored by: Sawyer, Lawson and Bowen. (not quite the 8 - 2 of yesterday;-), but still a good result!). Just one thing. Anyone know why Duku and Morath-Gibbs weren't playing today?

  4. CHAMPIONES, CHAMPIONES, OLE, OLE, OLE... ooops...sorry...wrong thread...twas the picture of Arsene that confused me...tee hee Yes the jam pan, thank you for your further comments. Still soaking with Ariel. Progress has slowed tremendously, but I shall not capitulate - yet! RosieH, if the situation does not materially improve by midnight tomorrow, I shall attempt your "trick" of scrubbing whilst simmering. Failing that, I'm digging out the ice-skating boots! But right now, it's time to continue with important celebrations...priorities guys, priorities... CHAMPIONES, CHAMPIONES... 8 - 2, I MEAN, 8 fukking 2.... *sniggers*

  6. Have just returned from celebrating in the pubs: WOTTA GAME! And what a thrashing! We're back up the top. CHAMPIONES, CHAMPIONES, OLE, OLE, OLE...
  7. Haven't a clue...never buy it...someone left a large bottle of the stuff at our house. But, I think, it was "proper" cola. Used virtually the entire 2 litre bottle. Remaining damage to pan proving very resilient...postponed blackberry picking :(.
  8. I used to live in Herne Hill - on a busy main road. No alarm. Got burgled 5 times over a period of around 14 years. I now live in ED - quiet road. Have an alarm. No problems so far. Been here 14 years. Make of that what you will. I would say, if you can afford an alarm, get one. We used a little family company (very competitively priced) called Sheba Alarms. Ours is not monitored but we do have an annual maintenance check to ensure its good function. Excellent service from Sheba over the past 14 years. As for an alarm making a property more "attractive". I'm with Frankito: I doubt it.
  9. Tried cola, Doc...did nowt. But thanks.

  11. Annette Curtain Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I've rescued the odd pan PS: I should tell you that my pan is not at all odd! The very inference! *harrumphs* As for you Lady Kat, to the naughty room you go... Thanks for your offer BTW - hopefully I shouldn't need it x
  12. Annette Curtain Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I've rescued the odd pan, in fact they're never > too far gone IMHO At last! A woman of tenacity and perseverance! *swoons* Before coming on here, I did try boiling up vinegar (minus the toms) in pan - but nowt. Looks as though bio-powder might be the leader here, but thanks for tip(s) anyway Nette. Muckers. PS: it's steel, I think. Weighs a ton!

You and D-C are quick to give up! My jam pan has been with me a long time and I am not about to give up on it that readily! > Mind you, its been a month since I last made jam. > I've definitely not been getting 5 a day ;) A month - you say? > handle carefully, if too ripe, they can explode > in your hand. Blimey! :-S
  14. Huguenot Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > There you go LM, a few tips and you'll get quick > results. Yes, it never occurred to me to attempt to "keep the jam"! Anyway, update. Inspection today reveals that bicarb (in the short term at least) is not up to the job of dealing with 3rd degree burns on bottoms of jam pans. So, it's back to bio-powder today. Thanks all, for your contributions to date (you too - jokers).
  15. Alan Medic Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- >Are you still knitting scarfs? I am. > How much > are you selling them for if so? I only knit for friends/family and don't charge. They are not to a professional standard: think rustic! If it's for your son, I'll knit him one with pleasure. However, he'll have to wait a little as I am in the process of making a DH one for someone else, upon completion of which Stoke City, Leeds United, Liverpool and the Italy National Football Team are next (in that order)! Would you like to go on the waiting list? If, on the other hand, it's for you - then that will be ?1,299.67 please :)) (+ VAT).
  16. Sorry about that, Mr. Medic. There appeared to be a dwindling of interest, and I didn't want to bump the thread if that was the case. But you are right. I have been to every home game this season and DH have performed VERY, VERY, well. Even beating the likes of Palace!! THAT was a match (4 - 3 to DH). We actually went with a Palace supporter...poor sod...he took our relentless teasing well though - not that he had a choice BWAHAHAHAHAHA....... Anyway, as I am here, the next home game is: on Monday 29th August against Corinthian Casuals. 15.00 KO. Looking forward to seeing you there Doc!
  17. A big THANK YOU to the lovely guys at Dr Bikes who set up stall at Northcross Road Market today in order to undertake bike checks, repairs, and routine maintenance to ED two-wheelers; and who fixed that irritating scraping noise which was emanating from my front wheel. Great job! And all for FREE!
  18. Update: Bicarb solution definitely nowhere near as efficient as bio-washing powder. Pan was soaked most of yesterday/overnight and, although water has turned black, little has shifted. Am going to give it a chance by adding more bicarb and leaving it for another day. If the remainder of the burnt mess doesn't shift soon, will revert to Ariel to complete the job. Blackberry picking tomorrow = no time to waste! *adds more bicarb*
  19. Depends on the size of the hand I guess. Or said plums...
  20. Deleted...sorry...in poor taste
  21. Good Lord!
  22. My dear karter, you are no pedant - just a bit of a nutter! Can't imagine what you are wittering on about now. MWAH.
  23. Glad you are pleased. You may get up now... PMSL
  24. Lady Katharina van der Wotsit, I have just seen your last post. Your title has been withdrawn as from this moment. *sniggers*
