Good post. I've worked in social care / education for years. It is true that there are SOME immigrant that take the p!ss, and want as much as they can get their hands on, and couldn't give a shit that other people don't get the same. And there are ways in which services could be better protected against this kind of cynicism. But in my experience, they are a tiny tiny minority. Just like the tiny minority of white British people that play the system and get big houses and more money in benefits than a lot of working families get. It's these cases that stand out, exactly because they are so outrageous. It is not the norm, never has been, and never will be. But what has always been the norm, and always will be, is people using these exceptional cases to suggest that everyone on benefits is like that, or (more and more commonly), that all immigrants are like that. I'm sure stringvest also believes that the strains on social care are all down to immigrants too.

I am, for the first time in my life, completely with Blair. But because it's Blair, he's probably done more harm than good.

Both fine crisps, best as part of a sandwich. -

By the way, has anyone ever actually taken the time to put these together? I haven't, but I've been tempted. -

That's the problem with these internet rumours. Once they're out there, someone is always going to accept them as truth, and in the future, some poor sap will believe that shit. Even though I know the truth, I feel that my relationship with Monster Munch has been damaged, and I'll always have that shadow of doubt in the back of my mind. Once the trust has gone... -

This link shows how the table looked after 25 matches the last 2 years. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11662/10159745/what-did-the-premier-league-table-look-like-this-time-last-year Spurs are 2 points better off now than they were at this stage last year. However, Chelsea are 7 points better off than Leicester were.

If so I'll mke a special trip. I miss those things! Everywhere does the Salt & Vinigar, but they're just not the same. -

Tavern snacks were still going a few years back. Their C&O were also along the lines of KP / Tayto. -

Can't understand anyone saying Walkers are / were better than Golden Wonder. Walkers have always been really greasy / oily. Until recently I could still get C&O Golden Wonder in a local shop, but they seem to have disappeared now :-( KP C&O were also a favourite. Very similar in flavour (IMO) to Tayto. But yeah, Walkers had Gary Liniker, initially when he was doing very well on "They think it's all over". And they added Michael Owen when he was the huge young star. But C&O in blue is unforgivable. Stupid bastards. I'll never forget the day I shoved a load of green wrappered crisps in to my gob, only to get a harsh hit of Salt & Vinegar. I thought the world had gone mad. -

Sorry to hear this. Sounds like this person is not right in the head. Hope you're not feeling too sore!

Jah is spot on. There are several Hamlet supporters on here. And malumbu's "you lot" stuff is tiresome to say the least. It's like he's caught on to a cool band years after everyone else, and suddenly thinks he's discovered the underground scene before anyone else, so starts saying things like "that's way too mainstream for me ".

I basically agree with you, I am fed up with being told that because I was part of the 48% (tiny insignificant minority which that seems to be apparently),I should just shut up. My point really was just that if you wanted to say "stupid idiot", you might have been better off putting it at the end rather than beginning of your rant ;-)

And I say that as someone that loved playing gigs at the half moon, as well as attending. But I can see why a business model wouldn't fancy it.
-
For what it's worth, I think your post was basically very good. But using the "stupid" bit from the start probably lost you your audience before you'd got your point across.

Maybe if the old half moon had been really pulling in the crowds for live music they'd have been more keen.
