Seabag, I suspect I use the same practice as you (haven't changed since moving from Sydenham). I find it very frustrating trying to get an appointment, and the reception staff REALLY wind me up.

We need more drop in centres. A few weeks back I messed up my knee. Went to Beckenham Beacon on a Saturday. Within 90 minutes of arriving I'd been seen by a physio, x-rayed, returned to the physio and issued a pair of crutches and sent home. Was very impressed.

I have tried to stop tory bashing for the sake of it. But Hunt and Patel both really do come across as feckin useless, and really unpleasant.

    Camberwell 1963

Interestingly, the director Winifred Crum Ewing went on to be president of the SNP.

Interesting. That exact film was on youtube a year or two back, and when I tried to find it for a friend recently it was gone. Guess BFI must have snapped it up. It's a great look at the past, and although I wasn't born until the late 70s, it reminds me of a lot of things from my childhood.

It's got "special relationship" written all over it.

Absolutely classic Liverpool. Win against a top 4 rival, then lose against a bottom 3 team. If Chelsea win at Spurs they're 8 points clear. Can't see anyone overturning that unless they lose a couple of key players to injury or something.
  9. Personally I've never come across rotting food on the shelves of Lidl or Aldo. And as I say, they do VERY good business, I am pretty sure they won't lose any sleep over a few people not rating them. I always find them friendly in the Sydenham / Pange Lidls, and Catford / Penge Aldi's, which are the ones I use.
  10. I repeat my Dulwich jam recommendation. Next one is the first Wednesday in Feb, which is actually the 1st. Great welcoming vibe and cheap booze. What's not to like?
  11. And yet everyone still goes because they're cheap. And they know it.
  12. Totally agree with Loz's post above. You want great customer service, go somewhere that caters for that (and charges). Lidl is one step away from cash n carry, a warehouse like experience. I love lidl and aldi.

Better result than my mate had. His basically warped in the sun. Apple insisted that it could survive massive heat and this wasn't possible. Even though it had happened. He went back to the 5, and plans to stop using apple when his contract ends.
  14. I got the Chelsea score right, but not a lot else.

  16. Indeed. My only point was that 16 detectives working full time on the case would be too much. And I stand by it. Equally this obviously needs to be addressed appropriately. Anyway, I wish you all and your cats a safe and happy Christmas.
  17. To be clear, I do not want to see a single cat hurt. But I am also realistic about public services and limited resources.
  18. Your taxes? I very much doubt they'd pay for one police officer unless you're very well off. I am not belittling the crime, it is nasty and sick, and I hope the person is found and punished. But just because you and a few (or even a lot) other cat owners think it should be top priority, doesn't mean that it should be, or that other people with other concerns would think that it should be. The only way that level of resources could be justified is if they were convinced the perpetrator was getting ready to move on to human targets. And even then I doubt they'd have 16 officers investigating it.
  19. Presumably an angry bot. Either that or a complete and utter moron.
  20. Thank God for that. If 16 officers were on this case it would be an appalling waste of resources.

And I quite liked it, so kept it up ;-)
  22. Without wanting to sound blas?, Manchester looks a lot better now than it did before that bomb!
  23. If they had "baggers" there would only be a thread on here about how badly they bagged someone's shopping.
  24. Season's greetings from Penge (well from my office in Catford actually). I'll be eating Christmas dinner in ED though, hurrah! (did it at my place last year, never want to do it again!!!)
