I'll be in ED this afternoon (around 2). If you've not found one before then I can bring one with me).

Pleased they got rid of that ridiculous water feature in the garden. The one that kids weren't allowed near, and which was prbably a bit dangerous. And yet acted as an absolute magnet to kids.

I don't think I'd have bothered arguing about the price of the book to be honest. But the fact they said things to you about people dying in hospices, and you being lucky to be alive. Well that's just wrong. Problem is, you're on to a loser from the outset, because as the volunteers of a chairty shop they automaticaaly get the moral high ground, even when (as in this case) they were in the wrong. Hope your tea calmed you down. Have a beer next.

Thought the acting was superb. From everyone, even those that didn't say much. They actually filmed the deaths of all of them so as to keep the outcome secret. Maggie's clubbing (and Glenn's response to seeing it) has been leaked, but I don't really fancy watching that. Anyway, it's certainly spiced things up a bit, as I thought the last season was getting slightly stale.

Wasn't the wisest move.

Thought a couple more people might have watched / commented.

And whilst I'm talking comics, you can read them all here http://readcomiconline.to/Comic/The-Walking-Dead/Issue-1?id=1715&readType=1 I looked at buying them, but they're really expensive. Reading them from this site works nicely on an ipad.

My heart was racing watching that. Really really well done in terms of drama and intensity. People are saying it went too far, but grim as it was, I thought it was spot on. SPOILERS AHEAD!!! Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > But I think Abraham, because after the first blow > you heard the bloke say something about how the > victim took it, and it just fits Abraham's hard > bastard style. Got that right, but it was a cruel tease, making you think that Glenn (who got the bat in the comics) might be spared. Apparently the actor (Steven Yeun) said he didn't want that moment going to anyone else. One of the most interesting things going forward will be the fate of Daryl. He's not in the comics, so no clues there. Speaking of the comics, I've finally started reading them, but I'm only at issue 10, all this Negan stuff is around issue 100. I've not even made the end of season 1 yet. But there are big differences. Carol is NOTHING like her TV counterpart. And Shane (main antagonist of seasons 1 & 2) wasn't around for long at all in the books. And no Merle & Daryl. Plus Carl is way younger (7 at the start).

Damn it, Rhinestone has increased his 14 point lead over me to 16. I'm never gonna catch up am I.

Unfortunately my one experience of "spectating" at a cycling event was when the tour went past my office in Newham a couple of years back. We all rushed down to line the side of the road. Waited about half hour, only for a flash of colour to zoom past (I admit the speed is impressive when you see it live) as the pack went by. Then that was it and we went back to work. So I think it's safe to say that cycling doesn't really do it for me. I quite like watching the indoor track races at the Olympics, I personally find that more exciting.

Not "tough luck", of course anyone should have whatever medication they need to be able to function properly. But if that gives you an unfair advantage in a race, then you shouldn't be in the race.

Yeah he definitely ran in the main Olympics in 2012. From wiki " 400 metres at the 2012 Summer Olympics on 4 August At the 2012 Summer Olympics on 4 August 2012, Pistorius became the first amputee runner to compete at an Olympic Games.[97] In the 400 metres race, he took second place in the first heat of five runners, finishing with a time of 45.44 seconds (his best time of the season so far) to advance to the semifinals on 5 August.[98] He ran in the second semifinal, where he finished eighth and last with a time of 46.54 seconds.[99][100] In the first semifinal of the 4 ? 400 metres relay race on 9 August, the second runner of the South African team, Ofentse Mogawane, fell and was injured before reaching Pistorius, who was to have run the third leg. South Africa was passed into the final on appeal to the IAAF, due to interference by Vincent Kiilu, the Kenyan athlete who downed Mogawane.[101][102] The South African relay team eventually finished eighth out of the field of nine in the final on 10 August. However, it established a season's best time for the team of 3 minutes 3.46 seconds,[103] with Pistorius running the final leg in 45.9 seconds.[104] Pistorius was chosen to carry the South African flag for the closing ceremony." That last bit is a bit awkward. I seem to remember that, ironically, some were questioning whether his inclusion was fair to the other athletes, as they felt his "blades" may have given him an unfair advantage.

I dunno man, the choices at Subway can be pretty daunting. It takes a clear head to deal with that kind of pressure. And to do so with panache.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

I heard the review on radio 4 after the first performance. They said it was stunning, and that the "magic" is really well done. And from what I know of the story, it does sound good. -
But not everyone can follow their dream. And if the only way you can be a world class cyclist is to take drugs that could give you unfair advantage, then sorry but maybe you need a new dream. I don't really care either way to be honest, I just find it quite funny how quick a lot of people are to make excuses for a hero.

My favourite job title is "Sandwich Technician" or "Sandwich Artist".

I posted about the Wiggins thing on facebook the other day. I was quite funny watching the big cycling fans jump to his defence. He is something of a saint to them it seems. I wasn't calling him guilty by the way. But I did say that if you need any non standard (like inhalers) drug to put you on a "level playing field" with elite athletes, then PERHAPS you're just not physically cut out to be an elite athlete.

Well for starters it was a bloke from Dudley doing a terrible South London accent as Delbert Wilkins. Where as The Real Maccoy (4 years later) made a point of using African and West Indian accents.

I know, right? They'll be after a grammar school next.

rahrahrah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > My main issue with Lenny Henry was that he wasn't > funny. Davidson is a nasty piece of work imo. See I thought LH was funny at one point. Admittedly it was a very long time ago, and it probably got forgotten after being buried under lots of not very funny. But I still smile when I see clips from Live & Unleashed (1989). But I was 11 at the time. Agree with Jeremy that it's not fair to compare that to Jim Davidson though. RE 2 pints of lager, I remember watching it a bit when it very first came out, and finding some of it mildly amusing in a very badly acted Hollyoaks being naughty kind of way. But that was very short lived, and I was amazed to find it still going YEARS later.
