  1. I like the three young black guys. They're new aren't they?
  2. The way I read it, he wasn't talking about coming back to Labour.

Interesting to see Sterling pulled out of England squad through "injury" (no details of which have been given). Suspect his manager is protecting him from it, thinking his confidence still needs building up more. I do rate him (to a point), but for what ever reason it's just not clicking when he's with England. Though to be fair to him, no one really clicks with England. But at least Wayne the conqueror is still there to lead us to glorious mediocrity.

Especially given the way they lost at the weekend. They worked very hard, and it took a late penalty to beat them. Harsh indeed!

Fair play to Spurs today. Much as I was hoping for a draw (from a Liverpool perspective) you have to say hats off. It is much more interesting now that there are 6 or maybe 7 teams with genuine top 4 potential. It got so boring for a while when it would be the 2 manchesters, chelsea and Arsenal year in year out. Leicester will be nowhere near this year (as we all knew they wouldn't be), but Liverpool and Spurs will I think give it a proper push. From a Liverpool point of view, it's great to see them get results from Hull and Swansea, especially when they came form behind yesterday. Those are the sorts of games we've often lost after big wins. Long may it continue.
  7. Haha, I want to headbutt a wall every time I see "hun" on facebook. "What's up hun?" Probably you calling her "hun". But the "mummies" thing really winds me up (and I'm a bloke, so really shouldn't pay it any attention, but I can't help it. "To all my mummy friends" / "us mummies are such busy bees" Fuck off fuck off fuck off!!!!!!!!!! Aaaaaaand breathe.

I meant the England Manager job. Although to be honest, if I was on that sort of money I doubt I'd be desperate to get more.
  9. I've not seen it yet, but sounds as though it was a well delivered speech. Owen Jones, who has been very outspoken against his leadership recently, says he's relaunched his leadership with that. Other journos say it was a good speech, but won't have really talked to anyone outside of Labour.

If I was in a ?3m a year job, I wouldn't be meeting with any "businessmen" that my employers hadn't told me to meet, end of. He'll be remembered as the England Manager that felt it wasn't his place to tell the players he was managing where to play.

Trolling Quids for sure. PS. Only teasing with the snob comment. I like the Castle to a point, but the beer selection is shit unless you're on Guinness, and it's not the sort of place you'd take someone that wasn't a very good pal.

But Momentum would like her gone without a doubt.

Indeed. Even I have had harsh words to say about Chuka (not recently, but I did think that having dropped out of the race last year he had a bit of a cheek slating Corbyn so much). But for the most part I like him. But yes, as you say, all of them will be seen as the top "red tories" / Blairites, so they won't be getting much support from the Corbyn hardcore.

Yeah if it's on anywhere it would be the castle.

Last time was a 4 horse race though, so not surprising the membership vote was more split. Being as loads of people have joined specifically because of JC (and I agree that's a good thing) he was always going to smash this. I'm just glad Smith got close to 40%. Had it been closer to 80/20, I'd have been absolutely gutted. Knowing that 40% don't want Corbyn does at least give me some hope for the future.

    Blame BFS.
  19. And let's not forget, Smith (who I think we can all agree, is a bit shit) managed to get nearly 40% of the vote. So although Corbyn's win was impressive, 4 in 10 voted to get him out (I am quite confident that most Smith voters were voting "anyone but Corbyn" rather than FOR Smith). There is still some sanity within the party.
  20. I think the media have treated him very poorly. But equally. seeing rendel try to defend the submarine "idea" is just funny. And seeing the use of the word "rightist" to describe someone that has just pointed out that a Corbyn idea was stupid, is typical.

I see Quids has been working undercover for the Telegraph.
  22. I actually would love to see the media treat him kindly, and the Labour MPs get behind him and do what he asks. Then there would be no excuses to hide behind.

Sue Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > I think a lot of people want decency and honesty > in politics and politicians, instead of > self-serving spin and lies. > so why are they voting for Corbyn and McDonnell? Both have proven that they lack decency when it comes to it. And they use as much spin as anyone else, it's just that their version involves telling everyone that they don't. I am really really torn about staying in the party, and I am bloody fed up with comments like "it's either Corbyn or various shades of tory" (as was said to me on social media earlier). That attitude shows a complete contempt for discussion or debate. Our way or the highway seems to be the Momentum way.
